Enough work has been done on at least one of the thrones to give you an idea of what they might look like, closer to being finished:

    warden201710_golden slann WIP shot 08.jpg

More with better lighting are required, but you can see the details on the little foam-base pieces now (the original is in the background, I will do more scale shots later).

I originally tried adding vines with clay but that was a fail, so I switched to the metal wire bend in various curves to stand in for the vines on the palanquin instead. The next experiment will be with tiny leaves, not sure if they will be plastic jungle-plants or something else yet.

I also was going to use hobby-shop jungle plants on the base for the slann's "cushions" but they didn't look right, not sure what I will do for those yet.

All in all pleased with the progress so far, but it is really slow!

Looks great! Have you considered those new bendy GW plants for the 'cushions' not sure how to implement them but worth a look?

I haven't, I will have too look into those. Right now I need to test my fake plant collection; if that doesn't work I may try to make some plant-cushions out of foam or clay. Originally I was also trying to come up with a way to represent "jaguar cushions," something that the ancient Mayans used on their thrones, but that idea didn't pan out.

On account of the slew of likes I received from @HeirofCarnage I finally took the time to update my index on the first page.

I haven't had much time for hobby stuff recently, but plan to start working on new projects shortly including a box of Warmachine/Hordes Gatormen, which I want to do up as Lizardmen kroxigors.

    Happy New Year! :singing:

I had some fun taking a ton of pictures in my new game room today with my lizardmen versus my Bretonnians. No new miniatures, but this is the newest army-wide shots of everything I have built for both armies over the years (last time I took a group photo was a bit less than a year ago, March 2017). I have gotten a ton of basing done since then, but still have more projects to do!

The extra foot on either side of the table is really handy for extra storage; it will help keep the center of the board free of clutter while playing games/conducting projects. It fits all the lizardmen!!

And here is the Jade Host facing off against the Bretonnians of Lustria:

Glad you like the pictures :snaphappy::vulcan:

    A bunch more close-up photos:

    warden201801_New Game Room_Jade Host Combined_07.jpg

    warden201801_New Game Room_Jade Host_05.jpg

Some chameleons have made it behind the unsuspecting enemy's supply lines: :blackalien:

    warden201801_New Game Room_Jade Host Combined_08.jpg

The other chameleon skinks have intercepted the hedge-wizard's attempt to steal the temple's wyrdstone, but I doubt they can do much about a fireball to the face... :hurting:

    Wyrdstone and treasure tokens:

A couple unfinished projects to carry me through the new year, sadly they didn't get to join the rest of the army this year.

I like how that army fits so well together visually despite being so big and build over some years time.

It just kind of worked out that way, mostly because of the green. :lurking:

Next project is some proxy-kroxigors made from Hordes gatormen.

    warden201801_gatormen_lizardmen_drilling holes.jpg

Not much to report yet, still trying to see how I am going to paint them all. I have drilled holes in the feet for magnets. I plan to magnetize them so that they all fit onto both round and square bases, potentially for dual use in either Warhammer as kroxigors or in Warmachine/Hordes.

Which brings up another question: kroxigor square bases are 50 mm correct?

Old terrain project previously built that I am finally painting, the Tower of Palenque

    warden201801_palenque tower WIP.jpg

The real tower in Mexico (at Palenque) is a very unique building in the ancient Mayan world, known for basically being one-of-a-kind. I goofed when constructing my own version by making the doorways too small. The side of the tower is also broken into, in order to better fit into my jungle Mordheim terrain, and to allow miniatures to be placed inside.

    I like it!
Actually I didn't know they built towers like that. Interesting!

So far as I know, its the only one still in existence of this type (and still standing up all by itself, though with some exterior work done). I will have to research if there are any more in the Mayan world.

Thanks! It has grown a bit, but the index on the first page is mostly organized now. Army lore is also on the first few pages, as well as my army fluff thread.

Incidentally I found a great article today on the possibility that the Palenque tower is not necessarily unique, and that the Mayans had built numerous tower like structures throughout their homelands! I had no idea, much thanks to @Aginor for leading me to that rabbit-hole. More info and pictures here.

The Tower of Palenque is 95% complete, minus some extra mud-coloring and all the leafy bits.

    warden201801_palenque tower_painted 01.jpg

    warden201801_palenque tower_painted 02.jpg
The tower is actually built in three pieces so that models can be more easily moved around inside it. Eventually I will magnetize it up one I get some more of the cheap block magnets I have been using for terrain.

    warden201801_palenque tower_painted 03 pieces.jpg

    warden201801_palenque tower_painted 04 pieces.jpg

And here are the ladders for use on the inside:

    warden201801_palenque tower_painted 05.jpg

The broken side of the tower was inspired by this picture, built into the side of the tower for extra Mordheim shenanigans.
