It looks great!! Did you not have towers? :pompus:

Yes I do! Didn't post any new pictures because I haven't started painting the "stone" yet, but since you asked:

The towers are in bad shape since they have ben stored for so long. Here is a picture of the tower in its original state, just a test picture to make sure my bretonnian Jungle Trebuchets fit into place with their bases:

Jungle Tower WIP 1.jpg

This one shows the tower with the updated parapets on the top of the tower, still unsprayed so you can still see the color of the foam I used (plus the extra trashed bits of foam littered about on the table)

And here it is spray painted black. Needs another coat of black to help firm it up a bit before I can start painting on the grey.

I have four towers total of course to complete the entire fortress of four towers, four walls, and the central plaza. Just enough to play siege scenarios!

@Warden This is coming along very nicely. Definitely top notch work!

Pun intended? ;)

"sally" forth... as in salamanders!

Not really, but I like it. Now I need to go make some salamanders so I can salamander forth from my fortress when its done...

Got some updates on the fortress door. Here is the door right after being painted. I went the stone-door route instead of having it be made out of a wood-door, I figured that would hold up better in sieges.

Here it is just testing it in its spot in the gate wall.

Jungle Fortress WIP 7 Door Shut.jpg

And here is a quick picture to show that the door actually goes open! And also shows the quick design I did on the inside of the door so I could tell them apart.

Jungle Fortress WIP 8 Door Open.jpg

Gate is big enough to let a unit of knights plow through the gateway without stopping to either invade in or salamander forth from the entrance.

Next up is adding moss and greenery to the walls to complete them.

That looks sick! What about some black on the wall to suggest there were some wild salamanders wandering around?

That's a nice idea! I will consider it, maybe even some suspicious claw marks...

More progress on the fortress of doom.

That scenery is awesome! Is it all foam based?

Yup, its all standard floral foam I have picked up cheap from walmart three bricks at a time, chopped up into bricks and glued together.

After a coat of black spray paint to paint the cracks black, I give the foam structures another cheap black acrylic coat to help seal the foam together a bit more because its a bit brittle/soft. After the black acrylic dries onto the grey.

Got some progress on the first tower!

Jungle Tower WIP 4.JPG

Finally painted grey. Also updated the stone tiles on the tops of the wall so they fit into the aesthetic I was going for with my road terrain pieces from earlier in the thread.

Jungle Tower WIP 5.JPG

I decided I am going to paint the rest of the towers first before I start adding foliage. On a roll so far, now to update the next three towers and get painting stone.

Looking great so far, I love the terrain aspect of the hobby, finished 3 ponds last night ;)

Very curious how those turned out! I shall continue to scan your blog for pictures!

I want to make myself a few mini water features at some point and work my way up to a waterfall.

They look good! It will look so much better after weathering and adding scratches and plenty of planty stuff (sometimes I forget this is still a WIP) :p

Cool! Do you get put on some sort of list if you buy more than three at a time? :p My nan uses that stuff in church, I always found the feel of it rather odd.

I wish I could get them at a discount, but its cheaper to get three at a time than just one. Once it gets painted a few coats the material hardens enough to be used in actual games.

More pictures!!! Two towers painted up.

Jungle Tower WIP 6.JPG

Also made two ruined pieces for when a wall or tower segment gets destroyed by a cannon/siege weapon/giant moster/ruination of cities magic.

Ruined Jungle Fortress Pieces.JPG

The last two towers are assembled and now assembled and drying, ready to be painted grey.

Jungle Tower WIP 7.JPG

And here is a closeup of some extra art I added to the last tower, a Mayan-inspired face. Decided I would make one of the towers unique, maybe for a future scenario titled "Legends of the Hidden Tower" for those of you who get the reference.

Jungle Tower WIP 8 Mayan Face.JPG

Got inspiration for the face from some artwork from Frederick Catherwood during his and John Lloyd Stephens' expedition through the Yucatan. Stone-carved face from the long-destroyed city of Ixmal.

Also added some scratches to one of the towers, evidence of some dangerous creatures living in the jungle.

Lizardmen added for scale... hope you like the updates!
