The looming excitement that might be TW warhammer II

How is that mod called? I'd like to try it.
eh, I think it was "Vortex no thanks: vortex mechanic removal" It stops the AI from actually performing the rituals (though they will still gather the resources so the bar will move). It does need to turn off when you do your final ritual though as it also causes the final fight to bug out. But otherwise it's fine.
I no longer really play the vortex campaign though, the mortal empires ones is nicer and more Original TW so I removed it and I'm not entirely sure if that was the correct one.

I also use the one for T4 minor settlements which helps a bit with making neater provinces.

One for passive agents, as lvl 20+ AI agents that murder everything you have are well... lame...Though this is the first TW game where I've ever had that issue.

Unfortunately both of the vortex ritual disable mods I tried are not working.
So in fact my campaign probably wont be going very far, I am quite a bit behind in ritual resources and all the Elves are starting to hate me. It doesn't look good.

But I'll play a bit more, even if I cannot make it I am learning to play the Lizardmen and having fun, so it is worth it.
If it fails (and probably even if it doesn't) I'll play the other campaign.

Did you install the mod with an on going campaign? Might be wrong, but if you install mods whilst having an on-going campaign, you might have to start a brand new campaign in order to get the mod to work.

If another faction completes the ritual before you you get to fight them in the end battle. If you win it permanently knocks them out of the Vortex race.

seriously? Why is this not mentioned anywhere... it removes so much pressure from the rituals...

And as @Paradoxical Pacifism mentions, adding mods mid-campaign can lead to weird issues. Basicly always assume you need a fresh campain even if they claim you don't.

Thanks!
I just thought it might work on a running campaign.
Well, we will see.
I'll just go on for now and see.

I only play single player, both in TWW1 and TWW2.
I am just too bad in the game for MP.

I really got to get this game, I'm missing out on all the fun.

Do you guys spend more time in campaign or multiplayer? What are your experiences with both?

I spend most of the time playing the campaign, its just so much more rewarding building up your empire and crushing all the other factions, but it takes quite a while to finish one campaign. I rarely finish campaigns due to either faction fatigue or because i have completed my personal goal.

Multiplayer is very quick, a match takes at best 20 minuttes. Each player get's 12400 gold to build their army and then they go at it. I think the multiplayer is a great mix of tactical rts and arcade because a match offers tactical insight and a great deal of thinking, but it isn't dragged out or gets too stale. There is still METAs in the game, but they aren't nearly as hard to counter as before, you just have to Somewhat predict what your opponent might bring.

Basicly only campaign, though in previous versions of TW games I've played cooperative multiplayer campaigns a bunch which is quite fun.

The competitive multiplayer I tend to find rather frustrating and boring. Like a lot of PvP games it suffers heavily from people min-maxing and micro-ing to an absolutly idiotic degree (single player can be paused if you can't micro as quickly, multiplayer can't). Which tends to make the playstyle a lot less fun for me.

I mostly play campaign. I have had a lot of fun in multiplayer though, although I have a pretty even will lose ratio. I would say play campaign before you try multiplayer just to get used to the controls. If you want so tips for play mp there are some YouTubers I could suggest.

I am sitting on the fence as well, waiting on the price to go down :)

Don't have time to play anyway at the moment, so can just as well wait until the price goes down more.
That's what I've been doing too, though admittedly I've really got the itch to go out and get it since the Tomb King DLC dropped. Unfortunately it might be quite some time before the prices begin to drop. Probably well after the 3rd installment is released.

If you have no time to play, then it makes perfect sense to defer jumping into it.

next prize drop will be Christmas/winter sales. So not that far away. Admittadly only temporary.

The winter sale is like right around the corner, and the game drops like 25%-33% every fifth week for a sale.

I need a new computer... that is where the real cost lies for me :(. If I had a computer capable of playing the game I would have gotten it already.
