Another thing, maybe it has been mentioned already: Slann now have 'Scaly Skin' if they are coalesced right?
I like how Kroak is a named hero and he can be included in any Constellation and receive its bonuses. He is, like what, - dropped from templeship where needed?
Nah, Kroak goes wherever He wants, whenever He wants. Just be grateful when Lord Kroak decides to give his gracious support to your army.
new lore is just "kroak shows up wherever the hell he pleases, throws meteors at people, then teleports away on his next quest". Also, he's no longer the only slann to defy dead. We now have a class called "relic priests", which are the mummified remains of slanns. Of which Kroak is the most powerfull, and the only one who just goes wherever the hell he pleases regardless of what happens with his physical body. It is unclear how much influence the others still hold over the physical world, but it's implied some of them still occasionally manage to smite enemies with their celestial magic despite being dead.
That's not entirely new, if I recall correctly this was also the case in WHFB, still it does sound like they are more active in the mummified states now.
Curiously about relic priests; they are only briefly mentioned in the older army books. It would be a really cool part of the lore they could expand upon
really? Thought Kroak was the only one actually "alive" and the corpses might be artifacts but they couldn't do anything themselves in WHFB.
There isn't a lot of info about them, and I don't think anything explicitly states that they do a whole lot. What is certain is that Kroak is just the first one of these Relic Priests and was/is the most powerful Slann to begin with, and the Lizardmen found that the souls of Other Slann lingered around their dead bodies and were still able to 'further the Great Plan' so they must be able to actively do something. With that said Kroak is a very special case, as he willed himself back to life during the End Times, no other Slann (or other being) has done so, as far as I know, death does not really seem to be of any real concern to him.
I just watched Khorne curbstomp Seraphon on a Mini Wargaming video. It really showed that without our synergies, our warscrolls are a little ho-hum. Still, with them we can be good. Oh that video also showed that the Khorne skulls bound prayer is super bs. Lol.
Spoiler The batrep was so frustrating. It was a competitive khorne list (as far as I can judge) against a fluffy seraphon one. And khorne was so extremeley lucky. He failed like a single prayer throughout the game, got the double turn, tonns of mw on 6+ and successful 5+ saves, 9+ charges almost for every unit. bloodthirster surviving in two wounds, etc. etc. There were a couple of lucy moments on the side of seraphon like good saves for knights and triple 1's for khorne's axe, but that didn't help a lot. Double unmodified 8's for Slann's casting is ridiculous. But the thing that got me is that seraphon player had forgotten bonus hits on 6 to-hit on celestite weapons, rippers' bonus jaws attack and even the toad. Meh.
Steve is getting his head around the new Seraphon, i didnt even notice that either. The worst for me was when the TG just didnt do nothing all game except die and they weren´t able to acomplish much. It was quite frustrating, as well as the double 8 for the slann casting. But, thats what happens sometimes in a dice game, at least now they`re looking better than in the beggining, Koatl`s Claw looks pretty decent, i would love to be able to play a little of them but this damm virus doesn´t let me play!!!
Sometimes I really wish that Warhammer had some backlash mechanics, when player gets too lucky. Like in Monopoly. Jokes aside, it is just a bit frustrating to know the outcome when you just see the army lists. And you wish for wonder in turn 1 and wonder doesn't happen and for about in hour you just watch how one army gets slowly massacred by another. But I really liked the previous batrep with Ogors. By turn 2 I thought that the game is decided, but suddenly the tables had turned. But ok. I understand that this is a game of dice after all.
Monopoly has backlash mechanics? The whole point of that game is that whoever gets lucky will steamroll everyone else (with you know 0.01% skill in there somewhere )
So I've slept under my rock till the new battletome came out... ...but my student budget won't be able to afford a tome, so... what changed? please help me out <3
oh lord... sooo much. saurus salamanders and krox are good now. we got prime and subfactions but not mount traits. they kicked our good units in the teeth and dinos are still bad
actually are Dino’s are solid. They may not be terrorgheists but for their points cost their really efficient. Carnosaurs got a slight buff, stegadons also got improved and diversified. bastiladons, are in a weird spot. But they are only 220 points which makes them decent as for who got the short end of the stick; Troglodon is good but to expensive, EotG got straight up nerfed, and ark of Sotek is a joke
they all die to everything they are slow they can't fly and their range options still suck. so ya do they have uses? sure but even then we have some of the weakest monsters in the game as sad as that is
