Okay, so, on the topic of enemy faction terrain being the same as other terrain... What does this mean for this Coalesced ability? "You'll get to ignore negative terrain effects in your table half." ... Does this phrasing specifically cover only 'difficult' or 'dangerous' terrain? Or could this actually stop a whole load of other nastiness caused by faction terrain?
All faction terrain in AoS is zero points. And regarding ignoring negative effects by enemy faction terrain, that remains to be seen. Will depend on exact wording, plus possibly a FAQ. (Let's face it, this release will not be immune to the flustercucks infesting GWs releases. AT LEAST one thing will need an immidiate errata/FAQ).
Having a Sylvaneth forest pop up to my flank and fail a charge/whatever means now I can charge into them if it's on my board side. Plus the extra D3 mw from the engine make trees angry, as if they did that number they probably showed up close to me
I guess we’ll need to wait to see the actual wording of the rule to confirm that... but if so, I think this alone makes us something of a hard counter to Sylvaneth and Beasts of Chaos. Not that they’re the top-of-the-meta threats, but totally ignoring their debuffs across half the table is disgusting. And I love it.
Does that mean only Starborne Armies are going to be able to summon ? If so they're going to be far stronger than the Coalesced right ? Or maybe they made a lot of changes to how summoning works ?
The way I understood it is that both can summon, but only the Starborne can LoSaT. But maybe the Starborne also get more summoning points, who knows. We will see soon.
this was my take too... summoning appears to be a core SERAPHON thing, LoSaT was declared a STARBORNE thing
Hm. When we are talking about splash MW from bound predatory Endless Spells, and splash MW from the terrain piece, add Knight-Incantor with Everblaze Comet to the lineup? 240 points is not exactly cheap, but it does deal a lot of MW, only requires a 6 and can be cast from outside deny range. And never forget:
Yeah I posted this in the big thread but everyone was too excited to see I guess lol. I've heard some people saying they think the +1 jaw attack and damage reduction are a decent tradeoff to lose summoning but I am not sure I agree
https://www.warhammer-community.com...final-form-of-listbuildinggw-homepage-post-2/ Facepalm, I'm not sure why they're so proud of themselves with this. I've got no real need or desire to collect and paint multiple Stegadons. I want VARIETY, instead they're trying to hype us up to just buy a heap of Stegadons! No thanks!
I would have jumped on that wagon without hesitation, love Skinks and love the big guys. But no ability to help with objective control = no money from me.
Engine of Gods could already do that healing spell: https://www.games-workshop.com/resources/PDF/AoS_Warscrolls/aos-warscroll-engineofthegods-en.pdf
Old version is 3" range, new version is a wopping 12" range on the heal. Plus, this is on a 4-8 roll where old was on a 3-5. Color me intrigued how else they've changed the engine table
