Just had a look on the GW site and it appears from the images that the lore attribute for Lizardmen high Magic as given by GCPD at the start of the thread says: THAT (not "this") lore attribute...

So it should read something like: "At the end of the magic phase the wizard generates a new spell for each spell he chose to forget from the Lore of High Magic or another lore he also has available but the new spells will always have THAT spell lore's attribute."

This means that you can choose to forget spells from the high magic lore but as soon as soon as you jump to another lore you get stuck with whatever spell/s you generate.

I hope that isn't the case as it would be cool to be able to trade spells between lores (too powerful?), but from what I can see it will be one jump outside the lizardmen lore.

    That's interesting.

This implies that it is possible to know spells from more than one Lore. This implies:

    1) The Slann may choose spells from more than one Lore at the start of the game.
    2) The Slann may swap spells from Lores that he has already "swapped into" in previous turns.

I read the second part of the sentance:

Just to mean that whichever new spell is generated has that spell's lore attribute (so Metal works properly), in addition to the original swap attribute.

Yes. It gives him a 5+ ward.

Grymloq doesn't have blood frenzy at all in the 7th ed book, it has 5 attacks from the start. The typical carnosaur mount may still have blood-frenzy and 4 attacks. It's all the same as before, except for attuned to the beast special rule

The way I read it is you cant choose spells at the start but through the lore attribute, in turn 1 you could forget say, all of your spells, and get one each from each different lore, yes. So if you had a loremaster slann (they better still have that!) and enough dice to successfully cast all of them, you could get 8 randomly generated spells - 1 from each lore - or 8 signature spells for instance. These seem to be 'generated' in the normal way which is why i think we can get signature spells.

I can see how you read it and I hope that is the case however I think because the 'lore attribute' of the spell is the ability to swap with another spell, you lose it once you go into a different lore. For example, if you swap a spell for a metal spell as suggested, the lore of metal doesn't allow you to swap so you're stuck with metal. I don't think it retains the original attribute from what I can see. If it was the wizard's ability I would say it is applicable no matter the lore.

Well, that would make sense too. I guess the "or another lore he has available" wording merely indicates that the Slann can choose from any Lore in the BRB, like he can now, and so when he comes to swapping any BRB lore is a Lore that he has available, and could swap in to.

I'm fine with that, though. I'll take Becalming Cogitations and Plaque of Tepok (if its still there...) to get 5 spells in High Magic, keep Walk Between Worlds, Hand of Glory and maybe Unmaking, then swap one out for Searing Doom and the other for Wildform or Miasma.

So going by Grymloq's page carnosaurs have the same stats but I am still interested to see what the two purchasable upgrades for carnosaurs do.

Its interesting that Grymloq specifically does not have these special rules, unless he can buy them in the unit entry as well.

Out of interest does anyone know if Kroxigors will have strength 5?

Might sound shallow but that's a deal breaker for me, in the last edition they just weren't worth it for me.

Rather dissapointed with Carnosaurs statline...still T5:(
The upgrades better do some serious improvement or they can keep their pretty $100 kit.
What a waste bringing out this huge awesome kit to keep it mostly the same. Ssuffering the same shortcomings as previously.
    Hope I am wrong!
Order placed for armybook. Spell cards, Bastilladon. New skink model...

Rest the armybook will have to convince me of lol

Ordered book and cards, rest will have to see, but I envision a couple of trogs and venusaurs.

Any word on troop type for the Slann?? Heard there was a runout he's a monstrous beast now I.e. no look out sir?

Will make me INCREDIBLY sad if this is the case!

If that's the case, then I bet Temple Guard will have some special rule to allow them to give the Slann a LoS. That would still be bad, because it forces Slann into TG every time. No Look out Sir at all would be enough for me to switch to a skink high priest.

Exactly. Got TG, and started lizards almost purely for the Slann, but I really wouldn't like being so limited.

Although I wouldn't be too sad taking my south lands theme to the max with all skinks :D

If the Slann becomes MI or MB he gets stomps. That would be weird. "Palanquin Smash!!"

You would think they would realize that the ultimate protectors of the Slann would be smart enough to jump in front of a cannon-ball to save their supreme leader, regardless of his size.

That would be really sad if he wasnt infantry anymore. it would make him immune to killing blow I suppose, but one of my favourite things to do was to run him in a block of saurus with a couple of characters and he was pushed to the second rank. No look out sir makes him incredibly vulnerable to magic (e.g. dwellers, pit of shades, etc.) and shooting attacks.

I think this emoticon sums it up :p :chicken:

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they made the Slann a monster I feel like GW is going to try to deter people from taking the Slann all the time perhaps that's why we got a new wizard lord which will be sad cause I love the Slann
