Can anyone confirm if the Carnosaur is 320 points or 220 points? On warseer people are saying its 320, so was curious if they really made it that much more expensive.

Maybe 320 includes the character and his gear? Seems a bit high to me as well.

If its 320 its bye bye carno for ever.
I mean com on 320? if its with tooled up scarvet that would equal 180-200 points that would be normal if its indeed 320... In a way im happy because i wont need to spend a load of money and points on useless centre piece because no way its getting in my list.

I saw that comment on warseer about 320points.

I think it might be the combined point cost for a scar vet (as a scar vet did use a carno in the battle report).

I saw someone else mention that the carno had gone up 10 points which would put it in line with being 220 points total and 100 for a scar vet with some light armour and possibly a shield.

Does seem like a little bit of a nerf as the carno counts as a large target again (and against shooty armies), with a 4+ SSS, T5 and W5 he's not going to be around very long.

    However....

With the rumour of two possible upgrades (that we know of) for the carnosaur, it is just possible there are ways and options of keeping him alive for longer and doing greater damage. As always, I will reserve judgement until my book and minis arrive.

Not keen on the price or new head for the Carnosaur.

    Meh to the troglodyte.

Terradon kit is cool, but personally I'm set for them in my army already.

The Bastilodon looks like a Hasbro toy or something. Seriously. HOWEVER I really want to do a conversion to have a Venasaur (from pokemon) as one, due to the whole Solar Power special thing.

Liking the new Skink Priest as well.

But honestly, it's all about the updated rules!

In the digital WD I can clearly see that the carnosaur is a 220 pts option for the scar vet.
Furthermore (this might havebeen discussed allready), the steg is a 215 pts upgrade for skinks, ancient one is 230 and EOTG looks like it is 280.

Also the scar vet has a natural 3+ scaly skin save. He looks to be a real beast this ed!

    Here we go,

someone on Warseer posted this, you can make out the stats and points for a scar vet and carno.
Interesting to note, it looks like the scar vet can take two other options, they look like:

Also a 3+ armour save, with predatory fighter

    Bloodroar and leaping strike/stride.

Good to see the scar-vet is still a beast :) Here's hoping we still get an amount of decent magic items..

Sorry guys, but that's wishful thinking. The Scaly Skin save is definately 5+. Look at it in comparison to S/T and I.

I'd find it very strange that it comes down by 5 points but gains +2 armour save. At the moment he has one better than Saurus, and one less than an Oldblood which makes internal sense.

Unless Saurus go up to 4+ scaly skin and and Oldblood has 2+. I would not be opposed to this.

Under the skink chief profile it lists "Lustrian Javelin" and "Blowpipe" as weapon options. Does that make it sound like Javelins will have "Lustrian Poison" but Blowpipes might not?

Or is it more likely that "Lustrian" Javelin's will be different from a regular javelin (range?, Str?) and both Javs and Blowpipes will have the Jungle Poisons special rule?

I'd assume the lustration javelins is something along the lines of "as per rulebook, but with poison".

Any confirmation on 6+ scaly skin for skinks?

Just wish listing maybe, but with 6+SS, heavy armour from rulebook, shield plus ripper could make a half decent solo assassin character.

Agreed, unfortunately, it is definitely 5+ (which is the same as Saurus, not one better :) )

It was mentioned a few times that the skink chiefs and priests both hav 6+ SS and the terradon/ripper riders have it also and from this they are presuming (here's hoping) that all skinks now have it.

Which I think is awesome!!!! About time too.

Skink Chiefs and Preists have a 6+ SS, yes.

It's probably just GWs propensity of late to give special/flavor rules distinct, and often silly, names.

i think the SS is 3+ for the scar-veteran if you see the 5 points is different from the number in SS

Re: The new book: Everything in one place! [updated 27/07]

Hey guys, looking forward to the release. Just had a couple of things I thought I'd bring up which I don't think anyone else has pointed out.

Going from the army book preview pages in White Dwarf, in the case of both the Terradon/Ripperdactyl and Razordon/Salamander Skink Riders/Handlers their leadership value looks to be 5 rather than the 6 they are currently. Perhaps we should be expecting a 1 leadership drop across the board for skinks?

That being said, the price of giving an extra handler to a hunting pack unit is now 4 rather than 5. Maybe indicative of a points drop for cohort skinks?

Whilst the latter point is a lot more speculative, I expect that a 1 leadership hit for skinks, even though they are cold-blooded, will hurt their presence away from any leadership/BSB bubbles.

Again, apologies if this is old news, I've been following this thread and a couple of others and I hadn't seen it mentioned as of yet.

Not that I'm aware of. If you got that impression from Bob's picture, it is in regard to how much GW charges for thier stuff, not a plea for money for the forum.

EDIT: Now that I've seen the global announcement, I feel sad. :(
