I see that Skink Chiefs are LD6 now as well. Makes for BSB shenanigans a little less reliable. Maybe we'll be lucky and get to keep the Sacred Stegadon Helm.

Also, for those of you worry-warts like me, Terradons are still Monstrous Cav. I thought they might turn Warbeast on us.

Well that...sucks. even with +1 initiative saurus will still attack last almost every time..

I know, right? Why did they even bother? I suppose that they didn't want Saurus to overcome their weaknesses by taking one 100-200 point monster... At least CoC and Temple Guard will go up to I3.

So I'm a bit confused about the Predatory Fighter rule. I see that you get capped at 1 extra attack, so that's understandable. But is that per model or per unit? A frontage of 5 Saurus getting 10 attacks, rolling 2 6's, does that mean only one Saurus gets an extra attack? Not really an amazing rule, if so. Does absolutely nothing to our combat potential in that case.

And does it only last in the first round of combat? I need the book already...

The way I understand it is that if you have a block of saurus with hand weapon shield, that unit puts out 15 attacks (10 from the front rank, 5 supporting). If you roll say, five 6s out of those attacks, they grant your unit an immediate additional 5 attacks. However, if with those 5 attacks you roll another one 6 lets say, it does not grant an additional attack (think red fury on hits rather than unstoppable assault on hits). This is not for just the first round of combat but it is limited to once per roll essentially.

Re: The new book: Everything in one place! [updated 29/07]

i bet you gat as much extra atacts as much 6 you roll first time, but this works only once, that is you dont get more atacks if you roll 6 on extra atacks.

Just thought this, you get extra atack on 6+? so i guess if you have a weapon that gives you +1 to hit you get extra atack on 5 and 6 (5+1=6 and 6+1=7). Now if Trog uses his roar you get extra atacks on 5+ but if you get weapon that gives you +1 to hit you get extra atacks on 4+ because: 4+1=5 5+1=6 6+1=7.
Now if this is how it works its amazing! think how many atacks can oldblood dishout! 5 basic ataks= 2.5 extra ones, if he has beast spell on him he has 8 atacks = 4 extra ones :D Thats quite insane i think :)

+1 init buff aura makes temple guard strike ahead of ogres, which is pretty nice.
Going from 1 to 2 isn't that big of a deal.
Going from 2 to 3 is where you'll notice it.

Ahh, infinitely more clear. I got a little lost with the description from Warseer, but that makes more sense.

    As SoB would say, "You can't re-roll a re-roll"

It will probably only be on natural sixes, not "6+"

well it depends on the wording. and if it will be a 6+ then sudenly lore of metal seems really good because that theres alot of armoured stuff and for spell that gives +1 tohit :>
Ofcourse the stick has 2 ends, if you get -1 tohit that means no extra atacks.

Comparable abilities work by considering an unmodified dice roll, I.e natural 6s improved to natural 5s and 6s for the roar. This is how I expect PF to work.

Anyone got any feedback on Carny upgrades? Except for the names? I heard some say the one is lunging stride (swift stride) the other Blood roar or w/e; unit charged by Carnie must roll 3d6 for terror test and discard the lowest...

Dunno if this has been mentioned. What do you guys think about that?

Still had higher hopes for our centerpiece model, maybe they could have done abit more to make Old Carnie fresh and really inspire terror. Toughness 6 would have been good.

Hey on a lighter note I see scar-vet Cold-one mount is down by 10 points to buy:D gogo scar-vet cowboys :D

Edited for self doubt lol Was cold one 30 points for scar-vet?

^^ Cold Ones were 20 for a SV. So that's the same. 30 was for the OB.

    On Warseer:
Not sure about Blood Knight cost, but Slow to Fire was a nerf I think we all saw coming. Curious about the Slann... I really need this book already. Rumors are killing me!!

EDIT: I was thinking Move or Fire to be the nerf, actually. Slow to Fire is no different than they are now. Could we still get to march and shoot? Hearsay, hearsay, hearsay...

FFS slow to f ing fire are they joking salamanders are now un useable. move them to within range then wait til next turn when the enemy has moved out of the way . Wll done the idiot that wrote the book atleast I don't need to buy any more finecrap sallys. s4 is not worth the hassle. I would rather they could move not march and shoot with a s2 template with the rules before -3 as and instant panic.

Re: The new book: Everything in one place! [updated 29/07]

Slow to Fire seems to mean that they cannot stand and shoot (p75 of the BRB). I cant see an errata that says it affects movement?

With the Saurus, although reasonably expensive, remember we now have lore of beasts so I expect a level 1 65 point priest running around purely for Wildform will see them as S5 T5 troops some of the time. Even though the points cost hasn't changed much, getting a combat phase of S5 T5 core troops is really going to make a mess of a lot of things. Put it on the TG and it's S6. You can take on Hydras and other monsters with those sorts of stats.

One question though, how does one use Ld5 Skinks? You cant rally them! The average for rolling cold blooded 3 dice and discarding the highest is 5.542, so they're going to stop us using skinks as re-directors by not putting the odds in our favour :(. No more flee charge reactions!
