Slann is ready for battle! Note palequin made from temple tiles and broken tiles on the base.
I'm quite happy with the poison flower and jungle plants on the base

Time for the bastiladon! I've gotta put on a layer of shiny over the crystal. But other than that it's pretty well finished.

Very nice, I like the calm, earth-like tones on both the Slann and the Batiladon. And the red markings on the armour are just magnificent addition, both idea and execution! Cool!

I'm always curious to see how people paint the crystals for the solar engine. You did a great job fading the blue. And the red accents on the Bastilodon's armor are a great touch. Well done.

Thanks for the comments guys, I have finished the bastiladon entirely now (including gloss varnish and pinning the pesky skinks down!).
Also I'm almost ready to share my Kroq-Gar model with y'all. Quite happy so far!

Thanks for that. I figure that the obnoxious coloured hides are for poisonous animals and the colours are a warning to others. So I decided to go with a general "jungle' colour.

Thanks mate! next step is to convert the cold one riders onto the dark elf cold ones!
The kitbashed bsb totem was:
Round bit - both were from the temple guard kit (I think!)
top piece - carnosaur oldblood kit. I think it's supposed to be Kroq-Gar's piece but I didn't like it on the carno saddle

I really like your bases. You've done a great job at making the units look dynamic and alive. I personally find bases to be very important, but also something that can easily be forgotten about by a lot. I'm still in the process of learning to do decent bases, so far it's been a hit and miss, but it's still better than nothing!

Also your OB on the carno have a similar painted armour as mine :3

Honestly, do you all think the palanquin made from temple's stone block works well, or should I opt for the GW palanquin?

I think the palanquin you have works well. The paint job is really nice and it blends in well with the rest of the movement tray, and even with the lone Slann it looks good. It is definitely fit for a Slann!

The only thing that seems out of proportion is the gray slab on which the Slann is sitting. It looks too small to me with his knees hanging over the edges.

The only problem is that the slab the slann is sitting on is actually the old edition palanquin. I might be able to make some push moulds and see if they fit, but if it's unachievable, how bad would you say the problem is?
