Ok guys, im wondering if you knowledgable folks can tell me which old ones are known, and what are they known for?

I have some very deffinite ideas as to WHAT they are, and how I want to portray them, but I need names and what they are gods of.

If any of you guys want a glimpse of my madness read my story http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/the-coming-of-khaamet.13004/

And yes I will eventually get round to revealing my take on them, and even get models made for them with rules, but help me out with a list to get me started :)

First:
http://warhammeronline.wikia.com/wiki/The_Old_Ones

Second:
It will have to be a little loosly dont with the models and rules I think, because as far as I know only slanns of the first spawning was able to survive in their pressence.

still interested to see what you make of it though :)

Well in 40k arent they in the necron fluff? The only reason i think of this is their Ctann god things that they can bring to battle so hope that helps :)

Also in the old fluff there were such things as Space Slann in 40k. :pompus:

Here is what I remember of the 'meta-fluff' that we used at my old GW, not sure of the accuracy of any of this or able to give references but I like the story :)

1. Warhammer World is in the Eye of Terror, protected from being completely overrun by chaos by the remains of the old one warp gates and technology, these have failed at the poles giving the chaos wastes

2. The Emperor is the last of the old ones, an immortal, almost omnipotent being with massive amouns of psychic (magic) power and the ability to engineer new species. At least before Horus sliced him up

3. The old ones left Warhammer world because of the war with the c'tan and necrons, the webway had been breached and they didnt want to lead them to their favoured world with their presence

There was some other stuff but I cant really remember it, a more complete list of the old ones is at http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Old_Ones

Yeah I know :p

There used to be a lot of evidence for the first one at least but GW has been rewriting a lot of the fluff supporting it over the last decade

In response to heresy time....

From what I remember the Warhammer fantasy world use to be within the 40k universe, but this was retconned to no longer be the case, the two are now completely separate settings.

Seeing as they started off in the same universe there are a lot of things they have in common with the Old Ones in 40k:
  • They're among the first races to ever exist
    They create other races
They brought about the orcs (in 40k they create the Krork, in fantasy ocrs spores came from their ships)
They seemed to be able to harness magic/psychic powers
They basically are the cause of the Chaos (in fantasy their gateways collapsed, letting the daemons in. In 40k the psychic races they made stirred up the warp creating daemons)

In 40k their reign ended around 65 million years ago I believe (basically same time as the dinosaurs.) I'm not sure how long a year on the Warhammer world is (the planet is bigger then ours and has a LOT of chaos/magic about it) but the old ones existed much much more recently.
