If we look at a whole faction, i would include:

Idoneth Deepkin (can be easily introduced)
Nighthaunts (some of them there were already, it's just a matter to increase the ethereal range

for new models into already existing armies, i like:

    Sylvaneth
    Slaanesh

    Tk'ya'pyk and NIGHTBRINGER like this.

    @NIGHTBRINGER

some guy in Italy came out with a brilliant idea to incorporate Stormcast into the 9th age and i think it could be useful for any setting.

I think they would all transfer over nicely with the exception of stormcast eternals and Kharadran overlords. I think they would need to be condensed down as well. something like a "grand alliance" for all the undead, same for orcs/greenskins/trolls, same for "humans" etc I don't see how they will balance it otherwise. don't want to end up with an 8th edition "Chaos wins" scenerio.

haha where can I get this model?

This thread seems like an insidious AoS intrusion onto the WFB area of the forum....

Good poll! I simply listed of all the factions from the good old days, anything after Sigmar should not be part of the Old World imho.

I don't know who that 1 stormcast voter is, but he is brave coming here ;)

Personally, I find that the Stormcast, Ossiarch, Idoneth and Kharadron factions would all be difficult to port over. Lore-wise, the Idoneth could be KIND of brought over - there used to be Sea Elves (who were SAILORS, not living UNDER the sea) in the old lore, but the other three really do not fit.

Fyreslayers are kind of iffy. There kind of WAS a Fyreslayer army, but it was part of the overall Dwarf army and they didn't have the whole greed thing. Slayers in WFB were a totally different beast.

Ironjaws? I love them, but only the 'Ard Boyz were in WFB as Black Orcs. Ironically, they'd be the easiest to add into the Old World, but still not sure they'd fit...

All the rest are pretty much okay as-is with one or two minis being the exception. Nagash would have to be scaled back a little, for example... :D

Everything except Sigmarines, Ossi-crap, Fish elves, Cow elves, and Steampunk dwarves (though I do like both just not together)
Also anything green is a greenskin.

And kill the fixation with over-armoured everything.
The beauty (and humour) of a lot of the old school miniatures, orcs in particular, was you could see the model. Now its just a pile of armour with half a face poking out

Eh, depends on the minis. The current 'Ard Boyz from the Ironjaws have looked like that since WFB 6th edition (give or take) as Black Orcs.

I think it would be easy to port Fyreslayers over into Warhammer Fantasy - keep the old Slayer lore, but use the new models and write new lore only for new stuff like Magmadroths (which themselves don’t go against the Slayer lore per se). In Storm of Chaos they had rules for a Slayer army, and writing a Fyreslayers in fantasy ruleset would just be a step up from that (indeed I’m doing it myself with my unofficial Cult of Grimnir army book).

I’ve just thought that Nighthaunt would require a serious rework to the Ethereal rule if they are to avoid becoming ridiculously OP in Warhammer Fantasy. A couple of Ethereal units in an army of otherwise non-Ethereal units is fine, but an entirely Ethereal army would be crazily strong in the current rules, because they’d render most enemy units useless.

Pretty sure it would be OP, but i doubt TOW will have the same rules / limitations of 8th edition about ethereal and magical weapons.

Granted. However, I'm still thinking about how they'd fit into 8th as one of my unofficial army books (I may not like them much but I won't begrudge them a position as playable in 8th if there are those who'd want to play them in 8th).

My best idea was if they had an army special rule called 'Semi-ethereal' or something along those lines that gave the smaller and weaker ghosts merely a 4+ Ward Save against all non-magical attacks, as opposed to the full-on immunity to non-magical attacks that the more powerful ghosts would have, as if that luxury were to only be afforded by the elite of Nighthaunt society.
