You've got a real post-apocalyptic vibe going there buddy!

No complaints though! There's something cool about nature reclaiming things.

I find it really interesting just how quickly nature reclaims things that aren't actively maintained. There used to be a show about it (the name eludes me at the moment). Each episode they would take a look a a place or set of structures and discuss what would happen to them if all human beings disappeared today. For instance how long would skyscrapers stand? What would be left of New York in a year? 10 years? 1000 years? A million years? etc.

The History Channel had a series called Life After People. A hypothetical world where humans just vanish. They cover how various landmarks and whatnot would be overtaken by nature. It was interesting for a while but they dragged it out too long. I like the domesticated cows which go feral and kind of become the new buffalo. I wanted to see more of that.

This made me think of this video from the Golden Age of College Humor.

To be fair this epitomizes the meme thread, the cats and dog thread, and the Random Thread of Randomness pretty well. The near entirety of the Off-topic sub-forum.

Yup... I think that was the one.

I loved seeing how the newer skyscrapers would crumble long before the older ones. Also how human language would persist for a while in parrots and even passed down to their offspring (but increasingly distorted).

I think it is real, I've found several different pictures of it from different vantage points...

That might be done with some kind of brick-print coating, but it IS possible to make actual brickwork do this if you use the right adhesive and mortar and have a LOT of practice and patience...

Budda hand. Weird looking, isn't it? Like the Chuthulu of fruit.
