True, but it was the English movement of the ball that set up that situation. The Danish defender was out of position because of the great penetrating pass by England. The defender sliding into that pass the way he did was bound to end badly.
Well, Italy won a solid victory against Belgium but struggled with Spain. England won a solid victory against Germany but now is suffering. It's very hard to play perfect games in every match.
HOORAY!!!!!!!!! ENGLAND ARE IN A MAJOR TOURNAMENT FINAL FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1966!!!!!!!! (hopefully we'll be able to change the song after this...)
Another questio, of course, could be: when will you be able to reach a final in a place other than England? On a related note, we won in Italy, France, Spain, Germany... England would be a nice addition to our collection. But hey, even if we lose, better against England (strictly IMO)
Again, too predictable. If you had a special title for the forum, I think it would be "Poker of wasps nests"
It's a fair question. English teams in the past haven't been of the quality to win any tournament. It's just a fact. There was no "bad luck" or "bad draw" just not a good enough team. And possibly not a good enough manager. I think I can safely say that this team is the best we have had (collectively and working together) in the last 50 years. And Southgate is obviously doing something right, but I don't know if he is the best manager. Maybe. I think after the better performance in the last world cup (getting to Semi's which hadn't happened in 20 years) and this performance now, this proves my point. Can they win? Maybe. Will be tight as Italy has a fantastic team. I'd like to think (based on the quality of the games I've seen) that England will remain a semi-finalist or finalist team. At least for now. As for the upcoming games... "We who are about to die salute you!"
