I have a LOT on my plate right now, but I do have a long term plan to complete this set...eventually. Lustria/Southlands 2-Inpentrable Jungle or Stone (raised impassable feature) Impenetrable jungle might be difficult but I got a good blue print for a big Sotek statue that could work. 3-Wizard Tower or Acropolis of Heroes I want one of each. I don't know what I'm going to do for the Wizards tower but the LM Acropolis is probably going to be a cairn (pile of stones). In my own fluff, cairns are the most common grave marker LM use. 4-Lake (1-3 Ordinary, 4 Boiling Flood, 5 Necrotic Ooze, 6 “River” of Light) I have two very crude stand ins for lakes or swamps but I eventually want to make two good lakes. One serene and one scary. 5-Building or Ruin I have one, a hut made out of a mini pringles can. I haven't put a roof on it yet. I plan to make four or five huts eventually. 6-Mysterious Forest (1-2 Venom Thicket, 3 Abyssal Wood, 5 Fungus Forest, 5-6 Wildwood) 7-Forest I have six trees. They can be placed on a generic base to create a forest. I prefer moveable trees that way I can put a unit in them. 8-Hill (1-4 ordinary, 5-6 Scree Slope) Hills are really hard to make well. I want to make a hill that looks good and has a recognizable slope but still is okay to stick 30 Saurus warriors on it. In my opinions, hills are the hardest terrain piece to do well. Usually my friend and I put books on the table. 9-River (1-4 ordinary, 5 Raging Torrent, 6 River of Light) This is the second hardest thing to make. I need to make modular segments. Right now my friend and I put neck ties on the table. 10-Mysterious Marsh (1-3 ordinary, 4 Khemrian Quicksand, 5 Earthblood Mere, 6 Mist-wreathed Swamp) I got two crude marsh bases. I plan to make 3 or 4 marshes eventually. 11-Obstacle (1-3 Fence, 4-5 Wall, 6 Blazing Barricade) My friend is really good at making cool fences, and since most of my games are with him, I'll borrow his. If I wanted my own set, I'd probably want six wooden segments and three stone segments. 12-Sinister Structure (1-2 Sinister Statue, 3-4 Banestone, 5-6 Charnel Pit) I want one of each. I figure a big ass statue of Sotek could sub as a sinister statue and an impassable feature. My charnel pit is going to be a tarpit with dinosaur bones. I bought a cheap T-Rex skeleton toy for this purpose. I know you don't like Age of Sigmar but they have six types, Damned, Arcane, Inspiring, Deadly, Mystical and Sinister. I plan to make to use tokens to signify that forest/hill as Arcane and that one as Sinister with vaguely Lizardmen themes such as a Slann token for mystical, a snake token for deadly, etc. But in the mean time I bought some very tiny animal toys to serve as tokens. Crocodiles for deadly, pandas as inspiring, penguins as damned, etc.
Not often, but I am a gamer and beggars can not be choosers. I prefer 8th edition, but I will play Kings of War or AoS if that is what the players near me request. They will all be Lizardmen or jungle themed. If you like that list, you will probably like this thread. I made many similar lists for different parts of the WHF. Though I'm not planning to make terrain for all these lists, my main WHF buddy and I will pick one of these lists and make due with proxies. My friend bought a WHF scale childs model of the sphinx, so we use that for the sphinx. There was also a model of a penguin on clearance for $2 so we use the penguin a lot. It's been a wizard's tower, a Idol of Gork, a Bane Stone (more than once) among other things.
I suppose that is one way of looking at it. I've always preferred: To each their own though! Any start date in mind in terms of when you might begin working on it? I'd love to see that take shape.
I don't what is more disturbing, the act itself or the fact that creepy marshmallow guy is smiling in the process.
