ComiCcon and GenCon self select with the most eager fans that will cheer anything. I believe the Game of Thrones creators were the first people ever booed at a Con event. The Batwoman panel cancelled at the last minute after their initial trailer went viral for all the bad reasons. The reviews for the first three episodes are not great. It may or may not sink the CW Arrowverse franchise which was already getting a bit stale.
The Game of Thrones ending was a huge disappointment for me. I had already accepted that the Star Wars franchise and the MCU were going down the shitter, but I maintained high hopes that GoT would be fantastic. Unfortunately they botched what was one of the best shows of all time. At least Samurai Jack got the fantastic ending that it truly deserved. Its failure brings me great joy
Not me. I actually liked the Arrowverse, at least intiially. And I am afraid that Batwoman's failed launch will prevent us from getting a proper Batman series. Batman hasn't been on TV in live action since Adam West! I would love to see a Batman live aciton series with proper handlers, perhaps the team behind the Netflix Daredevil series. I would recommend using the Long Halloween comicbook miniseries as the baseline. Either two seasons, or one double seasons 13ish episodes to hit the major beats of the Long Halloween 13ish episodes for other stuff, Bruce Wayne/Selenia Kyle love story, Joker antics maybe with a dash of Harley Quinn, thow in a few one and done stories with rogues gallery villians, maybe a character heavy episode to show Bruce on his parent's death anniversary, a few episodes to set up Dick Grayson or Barbara Gordon as a future sidekick. The Long Halloween comic series is something that Christopher Nolan clearly drew a lot of inspiration from. A major component of the Long Halloween was that the traditional mafia families were trying to cope with a new Gotham City that had both the Batman and a bunch of costumed criminals that were both hurting their bottom line. Also, Batman was relatively new to Gotham but not brand new. The other major plot point was a serial killer that Batman couldn't catch for a year. Halloween to Halloween. The serial killer killed people on holidays, (except April Fools Day were the serial killer lined up someone execution style than fired blanks). Very frequently the Long Halloween killer mimicked the methods of Arkham Asylum criminals to be harder to identify.
An acceptable casualty in my books. Can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. Arrowverse went woke... I hope it goes broke.
IIRC it was illegal in Germany because of "the glorification if violence in a very realistic graphical quality" ...still played it a few times.
