I've seen this argument used to try to guilt people into having kids.

My hometown used to have a charity raffle. I don't know if they stopped because of environmental concerns earlier or just stopped this year because of the CCP virus. Each duck was numbered, people would buy a $10 raffle ticket with a duck's number.

Hundreds of ducks would get dumped near a point in a river with a natural waterfall as a publicity stunt. The first ten or so ducks pulled out at the finish line would result in a prize for the one holding the duck's ticket number.

As a kid I always just wanted a duckie.
