The Shrine to Lost Armies

Just conquered all of historic Bretonnia in Mortal Empires for TWW2 and beginning to expand by borders. Definitely on a Bretonnian kick recently, here are some great blogs to peruse:

Not quite Bretonnia, actually for Saga, but beautiful regardless. Classic Britains/Late Romans from an Arthurian Army loyal to Modred, by Koyote over on LAF:

Not bad... not Tomb Kings level good... but not bad! :p

Hey Warden, you seem to know you're stuff about Bretonnia. Would you know which model I can collect that best represents this character?

Key features: on foot, chainmail coif (no helmet). I could prob kitbash the sword and shield if the model had something different equipped.

No way! :eek::joyful::joyful:

This is really funny!

In the old Lustria Campaign book there was a scenario called "Folly of Prince Rodrik." He and his band of Bretonnian knights waltzed into Lustria hunting treasure, found it, and when they turned to leave got slaughtered by the Lizardmen. Great scenario: play a bunch of Hero characters only on one side (no mounts) and weigh them down with every magical item they can carry from the Lizardmen army book. Then make a huge army of Lizardmen to cut them down before they escape off the other end of the board. Really fun scenario! I used some of this background as inspiration for my Lustrian Bretonnians.

Definately would suggest you look at an old GW foot knight for this guy.

Also found a modelling article on how to sculpt him and his whole band of treasure hunters! (see: hapless warmbloods).

Nice detective work dude. This must be what they based the character off. Interesting that his model looks nothing like his in-game counterpart.

I am not surprised, he was mostly an obscure reference from a one-off campaign book scenario, never featured in any actual army list or model. I do believe he is listed in the last GW Bretonnia book in the timeline section as a nod to the Lustria lore but that's about it.

Nice that GW attempted to make some models for him and his band in the WD though, would make a sweet Mordheim band!

Yeah that is crazy, sorry for your pals death man. One thing I learned from movies is getting involved with the mob is bad mkay.

Very true. Stunning work, all of it. Love to see if someone managed to make a Cathay army. The old non-Chaos Norse minis were cool too. :)

Speaking of siege towers, I love this ancient Chaos Dwarf one! Look at the shields!! :joyful:

I remember trying to imitate shields like those with DAS modelling clay. For an inexperienced (at the time) modeller they turned out ok. I used them on some old citadel orc minis
