His own. No General proximity or bsb re-roll. I used it twice today against a Tyrant and a great unclean one. The only problem we run into with other lords is their ability to take items that effect out to-hit. (greyback pelt or whatever) either way they both were absorbed into my magical blade becoming my first two written victims on the inside flap of my new lizardman book i get in 19 short days.

If it hits, will this weapon instakill siege weapons, like cannons, and bolt throwers, due to there lack of leadership?

Well scaly skin for him is 4+, add light armour and a shield and he has a 2+ armour save and toughness 5 which is very respectable. I think it would need to be a very powerful opponent who killed him in one turn.

when you charge a siege weapon like those you don't actually attack the weapon but the crew that come around to defend it

Hmmzz i take back those words than.

Still, a lord of fully 145+100 points of magic items charge in the enemy ranks? With no respectable ward safe to leave him with? Can't assasinate a vampire, for he will challange you with a champion and win through combat result. Charge the wrong daemon and your oldblood will end up a red spot on the grass.

It's possible, but i think it's way to hard to use and spill my lord choise on it.

You have to remember that even if he accepts a challenge with a unit champion, he is throwing out 4 (5?) s5 attacks, which is going to gather a respectable amount of overkill points, I would be happy with a lord doing that. Sure it is not massive combat killer like some things, but it is pretty good. And the unit he is with is likely to not be all that weak either.

You are familiar with how to handle things like a ragon or something else in your front? Challange, ok lose it, get 5 overkill points, but win combat with outnumber, 3 ranks, banner, (posible) warbanner. The same would work agains your hero, And he would be outnumbered cause-feared.

In your setting, he is with a unit. In mine, he was the jaguar ;) If you yourself have a unit sauri by his side, ok, than it would be a piece of cake, but yet again, so would a lord with a great weapon and a unit sauri by his side be. Cheaper, and just as effective imo.

Still, i have to try the blade first before i dare to say that it sucks and im never gonna use it. Can't wait till i get my hands on the book.

Actually, I am going to run mine on a Carnosaur. Yes he would be a bit stuck if he was on foot and you sent him in alone. To be honest, I am not completely convinced that it is the best option for him either, I will definitely look at it closely though. Points will be a key issue, I may find 75 points spent much better elsewhere in the army. But I think it definitely has potential. Certainly the best weapon out there for killing big things, if you can attack without them killing you first.

i'd put him on a CO, but i gotta try that new carno first, but a CO is my choice for good save and speed.

Well if you're going for save and speed, I'd suggest one of our items, the Horned One. Movement 8 and no stupidity? That's effective.

is it cheap enough to buy the blade? that would be GREAT!

told one of my buddies who plays deamons, well say he didn't like the idea of the sword that can take down GDoKs just by hitting them. :D

The answer is yes, the Horned One can be afforded with the Blade of Realities, but I won't say how much it adds to, lol.

I greatly dislike the fact that the Horned one, better cold one for heroes, is an enchanted item choice rather than a mount option... Its rediculous.

Now that I have the book, I have found a better combo than the blade of realities so I don't think I will take it. Scimitar of sun resplendent, Maiming shield, Carnosaur Pendant and light armour gives the old blood a 2+ armour save and 8 attacks! Plus he gets the blood frenzy rule of carnosaurs, so when he inflicts a wound, he gets 9 attacks at s5. I haven't looked at the chaos book too closely, but I believe that is at least on par with a chaos lord, if not better.

A skaven? A great weapon will do fine and costs like 70 points less :s
Btw my khone lord on foot would chop this oldblood down in a single turn if he isn't using a decent ward safe.

I don't know about your points estimate.... Mundane equipment for the old blood is a lot more expensive than it used to be. You all remember how light armour used to be so cheap? Well it is almost the cost of a saurus warrior now, which is just silly.

Chaos lords can get a weapon that gives +d6 attacks, to a maximum of 10, which would potentially make it better, but it also has a good chance of hurting the user so the old blood is more reliable.

Unfortunately, lizardmen don't even have the option for a decent ward save.... Slann do, but everything else gets 5+ at BEST, and it is more expensive than most armies pay, which kinda sucks. But what can you do? The special characters are insane, some of the magic they have is rediculous. A 20+ to cast spell?!? Special characters seem to have a heavy focus on making lizardmen faaaar better at magic than anyone else.

That's nice fluffwise. And i do like it. :p

Who said i gave my chaos lord the chaos daemon sword ^^ I roll a 6 attacks str7, first strike dude, with regeneration :]

Hmm, i cant tell about the point cost. Don't have the book yet. But a shield for near 10 points orso? doesnt sound that cool.. :p

You can't get both with Oldblood's 100pt magic item limit since the blade and horned one come to 110pts.
