Thin Paint - Army Painter Mega Paint Set

so over a white base coat the daemonic yellow turned a very translucent lime. After about 3 coats it still wasn't anything close to the yellow on the label or even fully covering the white in lime... so I stopped.

Stand the pot upside down for a day and then shake it well see if that helps.

That really sounds as if the liquids maybe split.
I usually do the following to prevent this:
1. Shake like hell
2. Wait a few minutes with the bottle upside down
3. Shake like hell
4. Use a palette. Drop the color on it and then stir the drop of paint a bit. You can see the consistency and color
5. Test on a sprue part just to be sure.

I use those paints almost exclusively. Most of them ARE pretty thin. That makes them better than GW paints for some purposes and worse for others, but they are really quite good which is why I am thinking you either really got some bad ones which have exceeded the shelf life, or you are doing something wrong.

Thanks for the help and comments. Lets see... I have done...

1 - done, for a minute even.
2 - will do this. i have bearings to put in to help mix.
3 - done! =)
4 - i use a palette. i can see the medium and the pigment. i make sure to mix it till its smooth. the fact that i can see medium seems a bit odd after shaking.. right? this isnt always the case. i just think these things are hard to mix.
5 - i did that when first testing colours. various base colours and stuff. no change.

i guess every colour in this set requires 2 thin layers minimum. yellows and reds require more still.

will see how we go when the bearings arrive. =)
