So I may have bitten off a little more than I can chew.

We havea tournie here in Seattle on the 22nd and 23rd of nov and I'm planning on playing my Lizards. Three weeks ago they were all just cute plastic colored guys living in a pile of boxes. I desided "I'm sure I can paint 2250 worth of those guys in a month and a half. I at the moment have 11 days left.

I'm thinking of keeping a working journal on this thread (hope no one minds) one to give me some accountablity and to give you all a chance to mock my lack of progress. If you want an idea of where I am at please feel free to take a look at the lizy pics on this board.

Here is my list
2nd gen Slann
16 Temple Guard

5 Cold one Riders
1 Scar Vet on a cold one.

Skink Priest

40 Saruses (two groups)

1 Jungle Swarm

10 Skinks with blow pipes

3 Krokies

I have everything based colored other than the Jungle swarm.
Since i'm doing the whole army with a swamp theme I have been puttying them as I go along. Have 20 Saruses left until they are all textured based.

What I have left to do:
Detail work
Base paint the bases
Wash the bases
Flock the bases
Seal everything.
Make fig tray and pretty up movement trays if I have the time.

I spent all day yesterday at the GW store painting weapons, My color scheme is pretty simple Since my army is so colorful all of my weapons are going to be "stone" and obsidian. So codex grey with a bada black wash and black with hardcoat.

so left to do:
25 Sarus weapon/sheild grey
detail work on slann
detail work on cold one calv.
Everything on jungle swarm.
Black on all details.
'ardcoat on all details.

I only have one day off till the tournie. so this is going to be fun.

update: 8 days to go.

So I have done nothing since the last post. I blame Fallout 3.

But there is a new GW store opening today so will be there all day painting like a monkey.

I hope i get a bit done today since it is my last day off till the tournie.

T minus 7 days.

Last night I was up late painting beast brown on the bases (which finished first stage of swamping them) Need to finsih the Brown stage then can get to the Wash stage followed by the water effects (Or hardcoat haven't desided yet) should give it a good feel then will flock then wash the float to give it that nice swampy life feel.

I have done nothing on the figs. Tonight I will work on the bases some.

Stupid fallout 3.
 
Haha, I hear you. I stayed up late last night playing Fallout 3 as well.
 
4 days to go.

I got some done this morning. almost what you would call progress.

All bases painted base color beastial brown.

All gear and weapons painted basecoat codex grey.

I was going to go two tone on the "teeth" with black and hardcoat.

I suprisingly got tomorow of so I hope to get a lot done tomorow.

The bad thing...

I have been thinking of changing out my army list.

Then this whole thread will be for naught...

three days.

Yesterday I had all day to paint since I stayed home sick of work ( :bored: ) But got pulled into a game (I need to practice with them as well) I got almost all the gray washed with bada black and all of the beastial brown bases washed with thraka green.

Side note if you ever want a creepy skin color beastial brown with the thraka is pretty sweet.

Given the lack of time I'm going to hold off water effecting the bases until after the tournie. Just going to hit them here and there with hardcoat to make it seem like there is water on the ground.

Other than that:

Need to paint all weapon and sheild teeth black and hardcoat (obsidion chips)
Paint the inisde of the sheilfs a quick black.
detail work on the slann and cold one riders
And paint the Jungle swarm base.

Then edge everything black and then throw them in a fire. Ah to dream.
 
two days

Got some done at the game store last night.

All bases have traka green wash, all is left is flock, flock wash and hard coat
All weapons are bada black washed, all is left is black highlights
got all the weapons and sheild backs for my temple guard black phased.

I think tonight I need to focus on getting all three characters completed and stop worrying about the table chumps.
 
So I finished the day before. all 2250. Took my (if I do say so) kick assly painted army to show them the might of the lizardmen army...


And got my ass handed back to me with a side of pickles.

out of 20 players I came 20th.

1: Anti-Magic High Elves = Solid loss
2: Demons of Nurgle = Slaughter (i should of been making d&d characters with the number of 17's and 18's i was rolling for leadership)
3: Shooty Dark elves = Draw
4: Warriors of Chaos = Draw
5: Warriors of Chaos = Raped... errr slaughted. I had two units (saurus and temple guard with Slann) Gated out of the game

So fun, I tied for favrote opponet and since the opponet had a better win/loss record he got the prize (he was also the guy I fought on round 5)

So in light that while I enjoy painting them I don't play them well I sold them to someone who posts here. I have high hopes he will do a much better job of holding up the lizardmen name than I did.

Next army: Empire.

Steam punk ah yea can you say Mecha-Spider Steam Tank? I know you can :D
 
I hate to hear you're giving up on the lizards. But, since it's your call, I hope Franz's boys treat you better.
 
You don't have a full army pickture of your (former) lizards ehh?

Anyway sad to hear you have given up on the cold-blooded creatures..
 
Now I am a cruel person I don't like posting much put critic I am.

Dude it isn't the army that is bad. Its the player.
Anyways.

Gl with the Empire don't put on to much cheese I h8 eating Nachos.
