Hey all, its me cravenus. I've been playing Lizards for awhile now, least a year, though I'm really slow about painting them. You should be able to see a link to my lizardmen pics in my sig, if you cant then its here too. fixed.
We were getting a lot of SPAM bots posting rather explicite links and (more worryingly) images on the forum thus we decided to disable the url and img tags and replace them with linkeh and pic so people can still posts links and images but bots just post code that doesn't work. Welcome to the forum! Enjoy.
I actually read into the previous AB painting stuff so i started getting the right mix for the stone stuff that LM have(grey/black mix) Either way, here are what I've finished the past few weeks. Engine Crew is on the block next Temple Guard Rank(20 models total) Temple Guard single Suarus Rank(40 models) Saurus Single I'm actually really glad to start clearing away my lizardman army finally, after about a year of not painting them at all. Chakax is getting redone next along with all my skinks(24 brick skinks) and my cold one riders. Once thats all done i just need to pick up some skink mages and ill have 4000 pts of playable goodness. Go team, and as always you can view all my stuff below
Welcome aboard, glad that your able to over come your painting rut. I have many fantastic painting ideas about my army but unfortunely they've sort of taken a back burner on account that I have to get my Reaver Titan finished before August so I can play it in a massive 40K battle with an old buddy of mine. Once again, welcome aboard!
Yeah, I absolutely hate painting, its why I favor my nids, cuz they're just black with green armor plating. If Im lucky I'll have my Lizards done by the end of april, I'll be able to buy more nids. That army is so far from being full =(
The face of that temple guard is fantastic! Good work. Consider making a thread for them in the painting section if you haven't already to get more comments as a lot of people don't read introductions.
I got me a fancy new(for me) digital camera, for free even, so i should be able to get more minis pics up when i get things painted. props to me
heads up, its a slann, a REAL slann, not just a cooler looking stand in model. (see later post) and his chair http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s11/cravenus/fantasy/Chair.jpg it is my humble opinion that slann look like garbage, no matter how you paint them. also, while I'm completely happy with the chest, the rest of him let me down, blending greens, it seems, is a skill that is beyond me.
Blending anything is not really an easy task.. I think you have mostly chosen the correct colours, though the middle one looks a little off the scale of the other two. Its just a matter of using more shades of colour to get it smoother. Also don't forget oyu can use washes to reduce the difference between layers and make it look smoother. Really just a matter of practice. It looks decent overall though.
Updated my slann pic, i MUCH prefer the blue coloring to the green, it blended so well http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s11/cravenus/fantasy/Slann2.jpg give it abit, its changing from the old pic
Last of my new stuff for abit, until i buy more. Cold one Cav (See later post) Salamander http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s11/cravenus/fantasy/Sala.jpg and I finally did all my banners http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s11/cravenus/fantasy/Banners.jpg
Got to admit it, those are some really nice looking banners. The highlights, texture, overall look and boy do they fit your army! ... Simple, but genius. And fun to boot! The Hunted
I'm sorry for the quick double post here, but i put some extra work in today and got my BSB all done up. I completely forgot that i didn't have a banner on his banner pole so I had to work fast, took all of 20 minutes.
hey all, been awhile, got my cold one cavalry converted to DE cold ones, which look way awesomer(totally a word)
