To all the slow painters out here!!!

Well end of the long weekend up here and I did manage to get some painting finished.
Pretty damn happy how the steg worked out, pics of the priest didn't turn out too well, Salamanders were already done but finally finsihed the handlers. Figure to count them all as 13 R&F, 1 skink priest, 1 steg.

Almost broke me so I think I'll take a little paint break for this week.
Steggy looks nice, what gold did you use though because its really really golden yellowish, it seems to bright for both shining and burnished (or w/e its called) gold.

Looks good Eladimir, every stegadon impresses me just because I know how much work is required to complete one. So much detail!
I would suggest you add a bit of wash or ink to those models to give them a bit more definition, very fast and easy to do.

Thanks for the comments on the unit filler! Glad you noticed the mushroom. ;) It was a bit of an experiment which I think turned out ok, very fiddly to highlight though. Its actually made out of the head of a pin!

Whats next on my list of projects? Two salamanders I think. A lot of converting needed before painting, which means dusting off those greenstuff skills. I'll probably procrastinate a lot on them. :p Oh well.

Pics I promised week or so ago :D

Yes I have noticed the paint on the shields, it was accidental XD!

Anyway what do you all think!?

Well I rather like the Purple and Grey scheme. :D

Holy crap a whole bunch of points up today - quick values (as I calculated them, feel free to correct me!)

Josh - 5 Saurus, = total 1 point
Juhaaha - 2 Gors, 0.4 points; Master Tormentor, 2 points; Titan Gladiator, 4 points = total 6.4 points
Eladimir - Steg, 4 points; Skink Priest, 2 points; 8 Handlers (Sally Snax), 1.6 points; 5 Command, 1 point = total 8.6 points
strewart - Unit Filler, total 2 points.

Yeah I tried washing the handlers in thraka green with little effect other than change in skin colour, I think I'm gonna move to inks now and try them.

Nice Saurus man, wicked definition in the scale cracks. Did you use an all over wash, ink or applied wash directly to cracks?

Steggy looks nice, what gold did you use though because its really really golden yellowish, it seems to bright for both shining and burnished (or w/e its called) gold.
Wasn't a GW colour, I'll try and remeber to check next time I break it out.

Your missing my point for the priest :meh:

Nicely done on the Stegg Eladimir. As Strewart said, takes a lot of work/time to finish one of those.

Josh those are some nice looking saurus. Your scheme is simple but looks amazing! Nice work on the scales, the bone and the shields.

You missed my model.. Unit filler.

Josh, looks good! I like the shield, and yeah the grey colour schem works well.

Wow guys, so many nice models here in the slow painter challenge. When I started this thread, I never thought so many would join!!! I'm kinda pissed at myself for really being the slowest out here and not performing as well as you guys are. Starting tomorrow, I intend to paint at least 1h a day unless I'm out of town.

This is a really interesting competition/challenge and I surely hope that the next one we organize on Lustria-Online will have as much success!!! Keep up the good work, keep the pictures coming and keep putting me to shame!!!!
:D

@Eladimir I just basecoted it with codex grey then used badab black strait from the pot, i make sure all the gaps are ful of the wash, i like to keep alot of wash on it but not completley drown it, you will know how much is right after afew.

And also the Z will stand for his name, its going to be zlatt or somthing (my saurus on bloodbowl) XD and hes my champion ill take another picture but he actually has 2 heads ; P bet you didnt notice, i forgot about taking a photo of the head.

well, finally finished some of my minis. Tomorrow I'll have to upload the pictures due to a problem in the camera cable department, specifically the lack of being able to find said cable.

Anyways I have completed 1 of 6 Rat Ogres, 14 of 60 clan rats and have gotten about halfway through my Warlitter conversion. So, pictures tomorrow.

Also, it feels good to actually finished some stuff, but it fills me with dread everytime I look at the mountain of unpainted minis that stare at me, accusing me, cursing me.

This question has probably been answered before, but is there a deadline to this contest? Also, do we have to post a list of what we plan to paint in "x" amount of time? Thanks in advance.
