I always had the idea to buy these models and assemble them as the Sepulchral Stalkers, also buy three toy or decorative scarabs (and three extra bases) to put the riders on. To get maximum value out of the box. Grrr, !mrahil
I own 6 as well. Wanted to build the stalkers but I played against too many elf armies to make them worth it. I've seen some really nice 3D prints to make them now. I'm saving right now for the first Heiro titan that I've liked. Beautiful giant scarab monster
I've currently got: 6 Necropolis Knights 3 Sepulchral Stalkers 3 unbuilt models that could go either way
I started buying more stuff when the rumors of 8th started. Then bought a ton of stuff at the start, such as a second Casket. Then I kept getting hammered by every other army so it got frustrating. Most of my other armies were more fun to play as half the army was a mess. Still had a few really fun games but not as much fun as in 7th. I am cautiously hopeful for the new edition. We've been burned before though. I'd love to see a new Settra but not in the over the top AoS style GW has been doing.
Their complete and utter lack of speed is what really bugs me. There are a few simple changes that could make the army viable, but first and foremost would be to allow them to march (and allowing Hierophant duties to be transferred to other friendly wizards upon death).
Yep, the fact that they need a spell to do a basic feature of all the other armies, is frankly absurd.
I agree and it hurt, esp in 8th. The army had some hidden speed in 7th with being able to charge with spells. Sadly still slow otherwise and in 8th they were out run by everyone. Dying with the loss of the heirophant, but the VC yet again got good rules...ugh. My play group also allowed me to to replace the number six spell with the Return of the Golden Age as the template is substandard for a top spell
I'd be happy with that mechanic. I think it really counterbalances the downsides of not being able to march. Additionally, with magical aid, Carrion were the fastest unit in the entire game. That is a huge upgrade.
Carrion with a 40" first turn charge was glorious! Sadly the upgrade was needed as you know. TK were so underpowered and the rules so clumsy, other than the Casket, that it was annoying. I just add the hope, you can laugh, that they will sort out constructs this edition. I own a few ushabti but I usually only use them as unit fillers as I have other things I play in 7th and in 8th I don't have near enough to do much that necro knights don't do better. Also if the 8th edition hate against scorpions can end that would be nice.
100% agree. Instagram has tons of adds (like facebook its how they make money) but there are some great painters on there with truly magnificent painting abilities.
