Tomb kings/Egyptian inspiration megathread.

Is a mounted Herald worth taking in the new edition?
I am the worst person to ask. I know a little about Blood Bowl (keyword: little) and much less about the other games. I just thought it was a cool looking model with a very nice paint job.

Fair enough. It's a great model and one I'd love to use. I have a tomb kings Herald and maybe twice fielded him. It's a frustrating thing as I said before, I want to use the models I like but they have to have some value. The Herald usually is just free points for my opponent. The 8th edition armybook is such a disappointment, so many cool ideas that were so poorly realized.

Is a mounted Herald worth taking in the new edition? One of my biggest complaints from previous editions was the fact that the Herald was seldom worth taking over more casters or a base prince. This is a model I want to field and have wanted to since I started the army!

Have to admit, I have been spending more time chanting at a Herdstone and defending/corrupting wild overgrown places with my Beastmen in TOW, but I do know Tomb Kings are a lot more solid now than they were in 8th. Combat Resolution is quite a big part of TOW, so I'd certainly consider it worth taking a cheap Herald with Battle Standard to give a unit an additional +1 alongside its standard and ranks.
