I agree! And the arcane vassal doesn't affect me of late, as i've been taking lore of life. If i don't get dwellers then it's all buff magic. I put my skink priests in skirmisher units so that the misast damage is potentially halved. I could image a trog in a monster mash list where i may have used max ancient stegs and still have points left over
I am perfectly fine with the signatures, but people started saying they'd prefer a priest over a trog for the transformation spell, which you only have 1/6 chance of actually getting. Wyssans is amazing, though I often choose to keep Savage Beast if I roll it - on GW scar vets, you get 7 PF attacks at S10, which is pretty horrific to face, regardless of what you are. Better yet if you have more than one SV/OB in combat. Or an OB with BoR. Wyssans is nice, but that's it. The fact that its casting value is 10 makes it of dubious use, as priests will need at least 3 dice to make get it off with any regularity. I do actually wonder, sometimes. Why it that huge beasts like the Trog or Carno have so bad T and as? T5 SS4+ is standard for an oldblood. Wounds are nice, but doesn't really make it seem all that durable, considering it only has 2 wounds more than an oldblood. It just seems a bit silly to me. One would think these huge monstrous creatures would be a tad tougher than a comparatively smaller Saurus. This obviously isn't just the Troglodon, but any monsters in general. That, or cannons/artillery in general, just seems too powerful. Being able to instantly kill anything, even a huge monster with super tough +2 scales, with the same ease as you'd kill any other infantry in the game, seems a bit silly. Not sure how to properly do so, though. Although, all things considered, monsters doesn't seem particularly strong in general. Most infantry blocks will kill them, cavalry even more so. They don't seem to really work as anything but flankers, which is a shame. When I think "Godzilla size monsters", I imagine them charging headlong into battle, not careful flanking something already engaged.
