Using left over terradon bits

Hey folks!

Some of you might remember the scratch sculpted terradons I was working on years ago. One had been completely finished, 3 were mostly finished (except for some final work) and I had 3 terradons that still did not have a fully sculpted face or rear legs.

I had hoped back in the day that I could sculpt some different legs for these which would extend out from the body, instead of being flat against it like the original sculpts.

When I saw the ripper/terrie kit, I wondered if I could use those extra pieces to do this:

Wow those are some nice sculpts. Tell me, were they very difficult to do? I really want to try and teach myself to start sculpting stuff but wanna start with something easy for practice. Still though, I'm very nervous and apprehensive to do so. Also, I love the crazy colors on the skink in the last photo.

Wapp, those terradons look great - I am finally going to get going on finishing my own conversions that I started about 18 months ago (I just don't use Terradons that often because my opponents are mainly shooty elves and dwarfs).

What did you use for an armature on the wings? Is is just wire, or is there more to it?

There is more to the armatures. I start out with wire, and then build up the body with some tin foil. Thin sheets of tin foil are used to establish the membranes of the wings. They are almost like paper airplanes at this point!

I put some apoxy sculpt around the body, and on one side of the wings. Once that has set, I do the other side. Then I add the 'arms' and talons, etc.

Very cool - I use foil too for such things. Getting very psyched to work on my Terradons now :)
