My Black Templar Librarian assigned to the Deathwatch is complete!
Epistolary Benedictus, Chief Librarian of Watch Fortress Sentinel IX
Super happy with how this guy turned out. Makes me think old-luke-skywalker-in-power-armor look. And I am happy with how the eyes and hand glows look.

His heraldry is painted on:

Humanity is slowly evolving into a fully psychic race. Most psykers are easily identified and marked by the Imperium for training, sacrifice, or extermination. But for every psyker that is exposed, many more go undetected for their entire lives. Some are only discovered well into adulthood, with their powers manifesting violently during a time of great stress or danger, often with catastrophic consequences for those around them.
Such was the case with Brother Benedictus.
The Templar known as Benedictus had served for over half a century as a sword-brother in his Marshal’s household. One fateful day, the crusade found itself outmatched and outgunned by a numerically superior xenos force. The unstoppable tide of the aliens had destroyed nearly the entire assault force, with only the Marshal and his beleaguered honor guard remaining. In their moment of defeat, their salvation manifested in the form of Brother Benedictus’ latent psychic potential, unleashing a shockwave of thunder, lightning, and raw warp energy cascading through his limbs to rain destruction on their alien enemies. When the tempest abated, the tide of the battle had shifted with hundreds of the enemy completely incinerated, and hundreds more in full retreat.
Overwhelmed with shock, Brother Benedictus fell to his knees, tears flowing with shame and begging the Emperor’s forgiveness for what he had done. The other sword-brothers, who only moments before had fought back-to-back with him, rounded on their comrade in horror. With weapons drawn, they fully prepared to carry out the Emperor’s justice and execute the exposed witch. Only the command of the Marshal stayed their blades…
In the present day, Epistolary Benedictus still maintains his exile in the Long Vigil. Prior to his awakening he was already a close-combatant without peer. He was further trained in the arts of warpcraft and of the psyker by the librarius of a steadfast brother-chapter. For centuries he has studied, fought, and rose through the ranks of the Deathwatch to become the Chief Epistlatory of Watch Fortress Sentinnel IX. Though still as shameful of his heretical powers as the day they first manifested, he chooses to use his unholy gift as a means to defend the Imperium and smite the xenos wherever they may be found.
