Blog Warden's Other Paint Log

Thanks @JTSleep !

Last month I went through and repainted an old Cawdor gang that I assembled and only partially painted 5-6 years ago. Its crazy to think that this particular project is as old or older than my kid... and now that she is older she helped me finish them by working on the bases!

My initial plan was to have these guys match my Ryza Admech minis, but I fell out of love with my first attempt to paint them and the project stalled. This time around i was inspired by several great content creators on instagram chiefly by therealbrokenfingers as well as the forgeworld of al-Ash by bat abattoir.

I went with a blue-teal color scheme for a nice Blue Jawas look!

This guy is my favorite with his robot arm:

I hope you like them! Really enjoyed taking the pics too, makes them nice and flavorful I think in a wasteland desert setting.

I love the cool blue scheme! Although I'm surprised you did not add contrast by using green for the eye lenses
Funny you say that, I was originally thinking of green eye lenses, but changed my mind to not only match my Iron Hands/proto-Sons of Medusa's lenses, but also I felt the "cool" look of the light blue fit the vibe I was going for.

I also finished off this five-man squad of marines at the same time. Appreciated how they turned out too so I took a few pics of them together.

^Really enjoyed the medusa head on the center marine's pauldron.

I played around with the settings or a few of these, thought they turned out very atmospheric.

Nice. What is the elk from?
The elk is a mix of sources

- head and mane are Warmachine bits from the original Warbeast kit (Feral from Old Umbrey). Both head and back are magnetized and can be swapped out.

- the back legs and most of the body are from a Reaper moose, and the front arms are also from Reaper from a bug/alien-monster. Arms were the right size.

- the rest of the fur is all Milliput to bring the model together.

Finished kitbash/converting up a second body for some of my Feral Warbeasts' leftover parts. The body on the left is the original model.

Great work on the kitbashing, it looks awesome.

Also love the colours on your Admech Gang.

Grrr, Imarhil

Blast from the past, I painted a dwarf and some trolls!

warden20260619_trolls and trollslayer.jpg

All three of these minis are Adepticon purchases, the Dwarf was from last year and the two trolls were a nice find from this year!

The dwarf is an old mini from Avatars of War, he was being sold at a discount for only like $5. Enjoyed the pigment powder on his axes and the little goblin face under his boot.

The trolls meanwhile are classic GW Warhammer Fantasy. So much character in these two, it was fun to paint them bright blue right out of the old WHF rulebook.

He has his eye on you! :wideyed:

The inspiration right out of the old red Warhammer Rulebook-

Contemptor are one of the few models I add magnets to. So many choices that are good.
Agreed. Working on some HH Predators next, aiming to magnetize the front of the turrets. The back-end of the turrets I am just going to leave as a single option.

...got some more minis for Infinity to share, my completed Iguana and pilot!

Very happy with how this one turned out. That Iguana pilot is technically the first Infinity mini I every purchased, back in 2019-2020 when I wasn't even into the game. He and the TAG were supposed to be a Necromunda conversion, but the box I bought were missing pieces. Glad I was able to paint them up finally, I themed them towards my Druze Bayram Security forces by giving the pilot a new head and converting the TAG's head a bit to remove the little "cat ears" the original model had and replaced it with a Druze-helmet "spike" that looks much more like an Iguana anyway.

Love his pose too:

And here is the Angel of Death himself, my second Azra'il! And the actual model this time, which I got for a steal of only $9 at my local game store-

Glad he is finally painted, for an old infinity model I think he and his armor hold up really well.

Here he is with his buddy, the Azra'il conversion I made a few years ago with an O-12 Gamma body and a druze shock teams head-

Really enjoying Infinity still! I would like to make more terrain this or next year, themed along the Haqqislam factions. That is what I had in mind for that 3-D printed terrain piece in the background of these pictures with the trees growing out of it. Good piece of terrain for minis to get cover behind, while also adding to the "story" of the board.

Really nicely painted, infinity was never a game in my area but I really like the models. I have way too long a list of what I want to paint to dip my toes in the model line.
