Hi, just a very generasl question: has anybody ever used any miniatures from games workshops warmaster section?

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/landingArmy.jsp?catId=cat480010a&rootCatGameStyle=specialist-games

it has alot of the miniatures that warhammer does, lower quality but far cheaper, you get like 9 kroxigor models for £8.70, slann for £8.70 and a carnosaur for £10.25, i have no idea how the sizes would compare but for that price i might give it a shot (worst comes to worst the kroxigors are tiny and you have to use them as saurus, but its still pretty cheap.

My understanding of warmaster is that the miniatures are extremely small, so you can act out massive battles with way more "troops" than you normally would because a block of guys is like, one model base. I believe the size is 10mm.

Yeah. I actually have the salamanders for decorating bases or as a jumgle swarm. Ill post a picture of them next to the regular models if you'd like. They're small.

thanks; because of my limited budgets i was wondering if it would provide a good alternative.
those pictures would be great :D

They are not compatible in any way. The size difference is huge.

As everyone else says the size difference is extreme, Warmaster figures are about one third the size. They are also even worse value for money than normal for Games Workshop figures.

Do you mainly play at Games Workshop shops? If you don't there are a couple of lizard or crocodile men figure ranges out there is you look hard enough that are better value than GW. Or spend time looking on e-bay etc. Bargains do turn up especially for older figures.

Hmm. Perhaps they could make some sweet custom jungle swarms though... baby kroxigors and razordons galore.
