washes?

okay how do you use these things I was using asuramen blue

I decided to make some swatches so to speak using skink shields so I cna see how certain effects will look.

so I made 3 so far one black with just a blue wash nothing obviously
regal blue with a blue wash barely noticeable

then I did ice blue with a blue wash and it looks really messy dirty and smudged


I was planning on painting my stegadons body in regal blue but not sure what to do with those armor plates that all the lizardmen have. I thought about just doing the blue wash over it but not sure now

uhm, first you need to paint the whole model like the skin colour. in your case regal bleu.
then add the drybrush or such for any highlighting.
then add the wash. then finish the skin.
then you have your basic colour.
then go do the jewelry and weapons they have inc their eyes.
in that wayyou wont " wash" any other colours..
well that wasn't so hard?
