Hello! I am strongly considering taking the time I now have at home due to Covid to finally start Age of Sigmar with the seraphon. I've done a bit of research but nothing too in depth. Would getting two of the old start collectings and one of the new ones (and a battletome) be a good place to start in terms of models? I know the old box has outdated and weird sprue numbers but am under the impression that getting two alleviates that. Or are they totally useless to the point where I should just stick with the skinks? Additionally are there any units outside of the start collecting I should go with. Lastly, being new I don't need to be completely competitive but I would prefer an army that isn't useless, the two players I play most with are Pestilens Skaven and slaves to darkness but the local scene has enough beyond that that I would likely play against most armies at some point. Any help is greatly appreciated and I look forward to playing with some dinos
The old Start collecting box is nice, more so now due to our new book. Which one you should choose ultimately comes down to what you most want to play, Skinks or Saurus. If big dinos are your thing, then getting some Stegadons is a good choice.
Welcome to the Forum! You will not regret picking up the gauntlet with Warhammer. I'm afraid I can't do more than wish you well on your travels, as I don't play AoS. That said, there are TONS of helpful people in the AoS section of this forum that will be all too willing to help. Check it out!
Welcome along! the Start Collecting boxes are both very nice and a great start. Depending on your playstyle you can add a Slann or a Stegadon, maybe some extra Terradons/Ripperdactyls For the SC Seraphon boxes I would go for both a Carnosaur, because the Trogolodon seams to be way to expansive(pointwise) for it contribution in the game. And if you want to build a Trogolodon anyways in this Tutorial @Crowsfoot shows how to scratch build it with the extra parts left over. Good luck starting and enjoy painting and playing Any questions just ask, someone on the forum might know the answer. Grrr, Imrahil
Welcome aboard. As said, in the AoS subforum you can ask all the questions you want, you'll find plenty of helpful advices.
