Blog Welcome to Lustria Park! Zheddikus' Paint Blog.

So I was painting the Terror Rippers today when I noticed that this weekend is the last time I will be able to score points in the summer of war campaign. All of my units that I have painted never counted towards it because I was told by my local GW manager that they needed to be based.

I have had multiple ideas over the last couple weeks but reading the lore of the now Seraphon and being a big Trek and Wars fan I wanted a Star base.

After talking with some people I decided to make the bases really pop I needed to do something drastic. I bought some glitter and a clear coat and basically painted a mixture of Green, Blue, and Purple.

The clear coat shrunk as it dried and caused some clumping. Luckily this can only be seen up close or if you are looking about 20 degrees up from horizontal. But when looking straight down to about 30 degrees from horizontal they look great! Depending on the side and angle you can get different colors.

I may look like a disco ball now, but that didn't stop me from finishing the Terror Rippers!

This is going to probably be my last post of painted models for a week or two because I am going on a vacation with my girlfriend.

Lots more to come though! I still have:

16 Saurus Knights
12 Skinks
1 Skink Star priest
1 Oldblood on Carno
1 Slann
And maybe a Bastiladon!

ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!!!!

Love the toad and the bases! Excellent job!!

Update! Back from vacation.

While I was on vacation with my GF, there was a game shop that sold GW models about a mile away from our hotel. So, we decided to stop in and see what they had. I am so glad I did, they had a box of Terranadons for 30$ in the old 8th ed box and a Bastiladon for 40$ also in an old box! Which is funny because depending on how much we spent on out trip I was going to order a Basti!

Edit: Painting to begin again tomorrow.

Good find. I remember when I went to Hawaii I found a bunch of metal current edition Kroxigors. I had been looking for them for a really long time, so I immediately bought the last 5 they had left at the gaming store.

Nice work on some very varied and unique terradons. They are like the flying creatures from avatar almost, a bunch of different variations. Makes them look very striking! Are you planning to make more??? Your terradons inspire me to make an entire flock of brightly colored flyers...

Also the hypnotoad is a great addition.

@Warden Avatar was actually a very heavy influence for the first batch. You can expect 3 more brightly colored Rippers coming soon, put them together today and need to prime them once all the glue dries!

Fantastic! Looking forward to seeing them together!

Sorry that it has been awhile. I have tried over the last week to paint the Saurus Knights but I got so frustrated with them... I, in ignorance and without fore thought, assembled the entire Knight and Cold Ones, but did not combine them. This caused a lot of frustration with painting and being unable to reach a lot of parts. Soooooooo they are in the dip to try again with a friend's help. I did begin working on my Carno today!

This is Sithosaurus rex. An idea my buddy and I came up with. Painted black then dry brushed the scales a red color.

After that I applied a wash to get rid of excess dust and to darken it down

And teeth!20160826_192555.jpg

Working on the rope and ornaments now. Need some advice on what to do with the underbelly. Initial thoughts are orange/lava/flames.

Okay. So I gave him a belly.

After wash 1

Wash 2 plus gold and ropes done! Edit: forgot to mention I also dry brushed another layer of red on the scales.

A third wash was added to make it look more orange again because Agrax, while it darkened it nicely did not leave it looking nice.

Tomorrow: Mouth and Rider.

You were right on that fiery orange belly. Looks incredible! The colours go so well together!

Looks great so far! And good luck with your cold ones!

I got a new painting station with new lights! I no longer have the small space by my computer and fish tank. So I didn't get any painting done yesterday. Just a lot of cleaning and rearranging my room.

Today though I finished Sithosaurus rex's mouth and started on his Old blood rider!

The spear is next up, on things to do. Followed by the the horns on the throne.
I have no clue what I am going to paint the throne... any advice or recommendations?
