What are you doing today hobbywise?

I finally decided on doing Orks for my Crusade force against my nephew. So I spent last night painting some more boyz and rebased a few more today. I have 10 more basic boys to glue on their bases, then I need about 50 more 32 mm bases for all the ones I haven't gotten to.

Today I've spent a couple of hours by taking materials and setting an apocalypse which will be played tomorrow

Just setting the last details for an incoming narrative apocalypse Necrons vs Empire. Hopefully i'll post some pics

The tables have been set-up!

surface level: (please note that the seraphon pyramid will be replaced with a necron monolith, that will act as LoS blocking terrain)

...and the subterranean level (they are connected through the "portals" and can be reached via the teleport platforms)

I love your terrain! Brilliant stuff.

Today, I am finishing my short story entry for the October/November contest (have to cut down the wordage, boooooo!).

I am also trying not to buy any Brettonia models off the 'Bay... It's harder than you'd think. @Warden 's new thread in the WFB "Other Armies" thread touched a long-buried desire to go forth and do battle in the name of the Lady of the Lake (which despite the French theme is an English piece of folklore).

Nice terrain setup!

Just the fact that on the 2th of October you are already done writing your story (only need to cut words). I am still figuring out the story-line ;)

Grrr, Imrahil

Well, basically I hate leaving things to the last minute so when @Scalenex launched the contest early, I figured I'd just get going.

Plus, while I ALWAYS have random ideas for stories floating around in my head, I need a bit of necessity to actually sit down and write the bloody thing out. Which is why I like the contest so much as it forces me to actually write the things.

That would work for me as well if I hadn't a long-winded style which makes it impossible to stay within the word limit. 2000 words? That's just an introduction...

Totally.

I wrote the story and then cringed when I read the word count and it was past 3200... Up to that point I had been thinking to flesh out some bits where I felt I hadn't done it justice :banghead:

Ah well. Some hacking and slashing later and I'm hovering around 2400 and trying to get it to the stage of being happy with it.
