What are you doing today hobbywise?

Had a bit of a late Blood Bowl game today, between my Lizardmen and my opponent's Dark Elves. Despite taking 4 casualties (skinks, naturally), I managed to squeak by with a 1-1 draw.

 

Did some more work on my Fireborn, pictures on my blog later.

 

Yet more Aztecs, this time building then priming.

 

^0o^ I went to work, but I did assemble most of my Sloggoth (ally for my Troggmob).

 

Painting the skin on the Shezmu, might need to mix in a bit more brown as I'm trying to replicate the art onto miniature.
Want my claws on the airbrush already so I can experiment but a lot to pay off still and I need to order in the thinners, flow improver and cleaner. GW paints can be used with the thinner but it requires a lot to create the milk consistency required, so much research at the moment. Saves having to buy new paint but the shop worker really insists on enamel that he uses thinned down, don't really want to buy more paint just for one thing.

Also talked to my friend about my personal tabletop project, he really thinks I should do it as a card game/boardgame.
Well boardgames are not really my area, plus with some ranged characters and large monsters being hard to squeeze into such format I would rather go with a type of skirmish, maybe have an ability deck for each character to keep a bit of balance with some.
He told me writing such games are hard, well not on a deadline and it's a personal thing so I can just chip away. Got plenty of books and games to refer to for ideas.

 

Finished my first (of two) Fireborn unit!!!

 

I've just built and primed 12 Jaguar warriors, and I intend to paint them this evening, or at least start.

Got a few things growing in the spawning pool right now.
If you look closely you might be able to make out the faces of the two biggest guys.

 

Nice. Next time I have to do a tester plate I'm doing the April reptilians from forest dragon.

What printer or printers are you using? I am using the Elegoo Mars 2 and get good enough detail, but just wondering what you use for your 10 mm guys.

Trying to get myself started on my second Fireborn unit painting.

Spent some time going through Storm of Magic and Monstrous Arcanum for 8th Edition.

 

Mars 2 pro.

The mono screen is worth the extra investment for time

 

Another duty watch build/paint jam. Started revisiting my Salamanders to get them beyond tabletop ready, starting with a flamer support squad.

Here's what I've gotten done so far:



I may have to wait until I have paint thinner on hand to resume painting any gold trim - the pot of Tamiya Gold Leaf I brought with me was proving incredibly thick compared to the Gun Metal and Chrome Metal I was using elsewhere on these.

 

So test prints of the April 10mm lizards came out mostly A ok, with only two skink stands being damaged and that being my clumsiness vs an actual printing error.

 

The last couple days, I put some work into some Stormcast I've had sitting around. The light isn't very good, so no pictures at this point.

 

I've done jack and none monday. Hopefully i can get a few more stages in on some stuff before sleep.

 

Finished the Chaos Dwarf Blood Bowl team with the exception of the reprint Minotaur, the sideline staff and the bases.

Got 4/14 of the necromantic horror team done.

Game day Friday, so going to try to have it all finished by then.
