What are you doing today hobbywise?

It has a scaly effect, right?
How about paint it brown to make it a dessiccated mud pool?

Or perhaps you could paint it dark brown (i.e. Rhinox Hide type colour) and sprinkle more sand on it to make it look like a quicksand bog?

A bit of a departure from an oasis, but it would make troops more desperate to move around it rather than through it...

In any event, without water, it doesn't justify the inclusion of the palm trees I painted.

Damn GW and their water effects.

Damn GW and their water effects.

That is very annoying - certainly even though GW’s minis are great, some of their hobby products are dreadful. I gave up using their plastic glue several years ago after my minis kept coming apart in my hands as the joins were just too weak (I use Humbrol now and their glue is so much better) and sometimes when varnishing models with GW varnish, if the temperature was particularly cool the varnish would produce the dreaded frosted effect on them - certainly my Spider Riders have suffered this fate, and while they still look OK, they could have looked considerably better. Now I just don’t varnish my minis at all as the paint doesn’t seem to wear off or anything and they still look great without it.

That is my biggest fear. I have yet to varnish any of my minis. I think it is easy to get away without varnish in the case of plastic minis, but metal is more problematic.

To be honest, I have been moving away from GW hobby supplies. When I first got into the hobby everything I used was from GW. Now I don't use GW glue. I only seldom buy GW paints (I really like dropper bottles and have been slowly switching over to Vallejo paints, but others as well). I use Army Painter undercoat.

Admittedly, GW gets very little money from me these days. :)

I see...

Well, to be fair, the effect isn't so bad.
That water seems to have a rippling effect, due to some wind.

Want to try and make a Beasts of Chaos/Nurgle mix army. Beasts of Nurgle and trying to pick a few more Nurgle units.
Was hoping to keep the model count small as I'm doing some green stuff work on making them look more part of Nurgle, maybe include their lovely grins.
The battalion requires the more larger units

Plsn for November, since the motivation thread is not up yet:

Remaining 4 greater earth golems
4 remaining gcps guardsmen out of 15 that I had on my plate for october
10 steel legion guardsmen
Bases for all.

About to send my Tomb Kings against my wife's Wood Elves in a 3000pts WFB match!

TO WAR!!!

Trying to do some miniature matching again, this time it's a bit harder.
Might do some revisiting to an idea that was given to me ages and ages ago. This was when I questioned the whole Skin Wolves and the store manager said to me to create some sort of Werewolf army.
Once I sell some more miniatures and finish what's on table, then maybe.... Not sure. It's a neat idea but will require tons of work.

So far today I have prepped a squad of steel legion for priming, and tried to prep some bases for them.

I'm not sure what I will be doing but I hope to get a bit more done on my Lizards.

Too late, I didn't write anything down or take any pictures. I'll write up some general thoughts tomorrow.

That most often happens during my games too...

Close game though.... back and forth

That’s the sort of game I like - close and balanced, just as the rules writers intended. All the games I have played with my dad have been extremely balanced because I mainly use army lists that look good fluffwise but aren’t necessarily competitive.
