What are you doing today hobbywise?

Working on a small skink Starpriest and the huge troggoth hag. Struggling a bit to find the proper scheme.

I usually use Army Painter primers, but I have to order those online, and the can was just available in the GW store so I got one.
Pleasant surprise.
may i suggest vallejo spray primers?

They are about the same as the ones from Army Painter, I have to order them online.
They do have a nice range of colors though, and similar prices as Army Painter, too.

I did some work on Arkhan (on his mount to be precise)
Ghostly parts on the Dread Abyssal are done, working on the bones now, I'd say about 50% finished.

The details have come in for Armies on Parade, I am finding myself settling on painting up some more Chaq'Kai to go with the existing ones. Aiming to recreate one scene from the story, also it means I don't have to paint a lot of miniatures as I already have a Troglodon, Carnosaur, Saurus and some Saurus Knights. Along with a Priest but I might make another.

Reading up on the rules for Warcry and building a 1000pt all-melusai DoK warband, conveniently consisting of just 5 models, for a demo game tomorrow:

1 Blood Sister Gorgai (245)
1 Blood Stalker Krone (235)
1 Blood Stalker (165)
2 Blood Sisters (330)

On a side note, I have a lot of melusai kits that I want to use for a Cult of Sotek-themed army built around the Temple Nest warscroll battalion. I have however been debating how I want to accomplish that, especially with a bloodrack shrine that I kind of want to build around a metal Tenenhauin model I snagged during a made-to-order.

Still been working on my High Elf Spearmen over the past couple of weeks (getting those freehand eagles done!) and bought some Plague Monks today down my local GW!

Nice list - the Melusai are the only decent minis in the DoK army in my view, so it’s great to see someone doing an all-Melusai list.

I thought of the idea of sticking Saurus bodies to the snake torsos to make custom Kroxigors (haven’t put it into practice yet, but I think it would work with Saurus cav torsos). They would look pretty good in a Cult of Sotek force, especially as the Kroxigors are the Skinks’ bigger brothers (at least in Fantasy they are). Perhaps using a Bastiladon as the basis of the Bloodwrack Shrine with Tehenhauin on the platform where the Solar Engine would be stuck onto might be the way to go, with the attacks of the Witch Elf guardians being represented by the Bastiladon.

Thought I needed to buy another Bastiladon because I thought I had one sitting around primed and ready, just found it in a box and saved myself some money there. Just built the Ark of Sotek to go on top so will prime that when I get the chance.
I'm having hopes with getting Armies on Parade done this year, as I'm going with stuff that is already painted, just adding on and making the board

Update: Unless other ideas come to mind, as always

I won two games of Blood Bowl yesterday, first against a human team and then against a dwarf team. My rat ogre was the MVP of both games, having brutally killed a kicker on the human team despite the best efforts of their apothecary, and generally treating both humans and dwarfs as bowling pins. Due to a lucky roll of a 12 for career advancement after the first game, he's now at Strength 6.

The one major caveat with doing it in Warcry is that you're actually short-changing yourself in 1000pt games. Both blood sisters and blood stalkers are 165pts apiece, and I neglected earlier to read about the "1 leader only" limitation that prevents me from taking both a 245pt gorgai and a 235pt krone together. As a result, you're actually left with about 100pts in an all-melusai list, which at best is a witch aelf or sister of slaughter that you're not taking because of the theme.

I had to do some digging, but @Deed525 did a decent conversion a while back that I might consider for my own "blood sisters" (still not sure about how to do the blood stalkers" though). I'm kind of running off the idea that these are former skinks that went full-on Yuan-ti out of devotion to Sotek however, so I'd very much like to keep the torsos and heads as skink-like as possible.

The bloodrack shrine may be a bit of a stretch, but what immediately comes to mind is a small-ish floating ziggurat, with Tehenauin's sacrificial altar on top, being pushed along by kroxigors like some siege engine.

Speaking of which, I figured I'd at least have a stand-alone model of Tehenhauin out of the deal, much like what I did with Kroq-Gar on foot, so I've gotten started with assembling that legacy pewter model. It came with a 60mm round base, but with me planning on using it to represent a bloodwrack medusa at the very least, its 40mm square turf is instead mounted on a 40mm base.

Had another game of Blood Bowl today, this time at GW. I neglected to bring my rat ogre however, and to make matters worse I had to contend with an ogre myself. Due to that, and a few unfortunate rolls, I wound up losing the game 2-0, but not without its silver lining: my 4-armed thrower got boosted to Agility 4 as my MVP, and a lucky foul led to the ogre sitting off for the next game.

Painting my Stegadon 'crew' and planning what my next project will be.

I've mostly been reading rulebooks during my off-watch hours today, specifically for Blood Bowl, Warcry, and Killteam.

Kind of in prep for the new Lizardmen team that's slated for release in the near future, I wrote up a starting roster for one using the stats found in the Inaugural Almanac. 5 Saurus blockers, 6 Skinks, an apothecary and 3 re-rolls for just under 1,000,000 gold. Still don't know what to call said team, let alone determine their colour scheme, although something punny involving Itza or Zlatlan might do.

Similarly, I've figured out what my starting roster would be for Killteam, using the tempestus scions I've already built. At 96pts, it's effectively one scion short from being one of my previously-mentioned tempestus squads, with the three non-leader specialists being a heavy specialist with a hotshot volley gun, a sniper with a plasma gun, and a comms specialist with the voxcaster.
