The looming excitement that might be TW warhammer II

Got a little nugget of knowledge about how the Lizardmen will play in the game.

"Lizard players will be able to see the 'geomantic web' - a network of magical energies or ley lines, that power them up. As such they'll be constantly seeking out and capturing sites that are important to the web, but seemingly random to other players, who can't see the magical tube map beneath their feet. It's a suitably confusing and alien mindset for one of Warhammer's most inscrutable races". - PC Gamer article.

Sounds pretty cool. Fits nicely in line with Lizardmen lore.

this is absolutely brilliant! I love how Lizard players will be the soul player who can see the geomantic web. Obviously lizards should feel quite different than playing humans and even elves, so that's a great way to do it. So many interesting strategical choices who'll be making, that to the enemy seems odd or redundant, since all they want is to gain land :D Can't wait to play them now, I already couldn't, but this just ad to the excitement :woot:

If the web is randomly determined at the start of a game, or better yet, changes over the course of a game. It could be quite interesting.

Otherwise it'l most likely just be annoying to deal with lizardman armies that rush past garrisoned cities to get to the next city... conversly when playing as the lizardmen it's not like you're going to conquer a city deep in enemy territory since it'l be a pain to defend. So it won't change that much either. Just means your expansion will be even weirder than it already is thanks to provinces (god I want Rome's system back.. )

Though the rewards for controlling the web might be interesting.

To the surprise of literally nobody, CA reveled the 2 Legendary lord for the Lizardmen. And it's...

"Grymloq was the largest and most ferocious of his brood of Carnosaurs, which led Kroq-Gar to claim him for his own.

There is no continent upon which Kroq-Gar and Grymloq have not fought, but for the last defenders of the now ruined temple-city of Xhotl, the battle is not yet over..."

Have you ever wanted to yell "white (lion) power" at the top of your lungs, without having people look at you in a weird way? well you can do that now with these White Lions.

"he White Lions have served as the personal guard of the Phoenix King since the time of Caledor the First. A warrior can only join the rank of the White Lions after displaying considerable valour and skill upon the battlefield. He must then also complete the traditional rite of a Chracian warrior - to hunt and kill a white lion. To slay such a beast is therefore an exceptionally difficult task but, if the warrior succeeds, he is entitled to wear the lion's pelt as a mark of courage."

"White Lion regiments are often despatched to join the armies of Ulthuan during times of particular danger, tasked with protecting High Elf generals and mages, or bolstering the overall strength of the army. White Lions are renowned for their unflinching courage in the face of overwhelming odds and terrible horrors, protecting their charge whatever the foe and regardless of the danger to themselves."

Please tell me the dark elves have a black panther unit to counteract that terrible joke :p

Weird introduction aside ;)

These guys looks pretty neat, the high elves will be a very intersting ally/opponent in game. Who knows perhaps I'll even play as them, just to get a feel for the game in different perspective than the lizards. :D

Yeah, sorry about that, I saw a 'special snowflake' making a video that talked about race and stuff. I won't derail the thread any further.

They do look very cool actually. Thought they would be rather bland and that I would skip them, but I am really exited about them aswell.

Interesting. Difficult to fully make out due the the colour of the resin against the white backdrop. We'll have to wait and see them once they are painted.
