The World Cup 2026 thread!

Disappointing, but fully expected. Who the hell is going to be able to stop this French side? They look lethal. And to make things worse, Mbappe scored twice :depressed:

That will hopefully be a spectacle match!

Grrr, Imrahil
It should be fun. I'm really looking forward to it.

Any thoughts on my question, @Imrahil ...

I think they are currently the best squad in the world. I can't think of a single team that has a better than 50% chance against them.

I am sad to say that I do agree with you on this. In their current flow the French will beat the entire roster.
They will need to have an off day to be vunerable. The thingis that they do not souly rely on Mbappe to take them there, they have good balanced team and Mbappe

indeed. We all know Argentina can have a say, but definitely not with a higher percentage
Yeah, Argentina and Spain could challenge them, but throwing my personal bias out the window, I'd favour France to beat either of them. Still, either would have a chance, 30-40% maybe?

Some late game heroics by Kane saves England. Excellent finishing instinct. @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl

Indeed... I honestly can't understand how they could have been 1-0 down at Half-Time to blooming DRC, especially when we did so well against old foes Croatia... but thankfully Kane scored those two to save face.

But then to be fair, the normally-mighty Brazil also played pretty awfully against Ivory Coast, and similarly squeaked a win in the late game. The great Pele must be turning in his grave.

So, we're against Mexico, and Brazil are against Norway... it'll be interesting to see what happens in those matchups. This World Cup is proving to be a particularly unusual one.

And with Germany and Holland both crashing and burning so early on in big upsets, it certainly makes me wonder if France can be stopped. They must be communing with the deceased Empreur Bonaparte to bring his strategies to the football field...

Must be said that Congo's goalkeeper held the line better than a regiment of cadian troops! :p

Portugal vs Croatia was disappointing in the end. Dramatic, but disappointing. No matter... we shall trust in Spain to get the job done.

This is what AI was made for

I am sorry for the format, i would go to church and repent now.

the game was good, so i condone it. Justice will be (no doubt) delivered later

And I thought the England v Congo game had late game drama. Senegal vs. Belgium :wideyed::wideyed::wideyed::wideyed: WOW

That was exciting!

A lot of the WC games suffer from late goal syndrome ;)
