AoS Second Edition

To be honest, from a realistic point of view, shooting out of combat is weird.. but isn't 95% of everything in a fantasy game

I like that ranged units van shoot in combat purely because of all the quick first, second turn charges.
AoS is a close combat game and there are enough mechanics in the game the support that.

Cut those sad little arrowboys some slack..

Things that interest me in this image.

  1. There is a wizard atop the Balewind Vortex, so that assuages some of my fears that it was just going to be another mobile spell effect.
  2. Even more interesting, does it look to y'all like that Starpriest has cast some sort of magical barrier blocking the teethy thing's route to the Warriors?

I hadn't noticed that that was a spell, I just thought it was a funky bit of scenery. It would be cool if we did have our own unique mobile spell, what with us being the masters of magic and all

I just noticed there was another mention of the new shooting rules in the StormCast (podcast thing).
It seems the 40K-pistols rule will indeed apply. So you can shoot while in combat, but only at the unit(s) you are in combat with.

Nothing so big. Just one thing that was already known. A sensible change, I'd say

Kharadron is up
and they can retreat from combat too.....Grundstok Thunderers

All their ships received a reduction in points, well if I soon start seeing more ships from my opponent then I will know why

Quiet big reduction frankly speaking. Almost 1/3

So it would be either more ships in future lists or more troops as there is more points leftover to spend. My last fight with them didn't go well at all, will have to rethink my plans now.

Seems like we will be able to pick what realm we come from!?

Seems like we will be able to pick what realm we come from!?
But how will that work lore-wise with Seraphon, who are from "the heavens?"

Since most of the Faction Focus articles so far have either contained or been accompanied by related rules updates, and since Summoning and Magic were NOT accompanied by a Seraphon article, I wonder if information about the Realms choice will accompany our Focus. I wonder if there's a limitation or randomizing element to Realm choice, but Seraphon somehow enjoy a wider or more robust choice? I dunno.

I think it was earlier this thread, but Grombindal said that some Seraphon have been around for long enough to become real, so we could have Temples established here and there. So super nerd moment but I fished Silver Tower with some friends, got to make a request from someone and my Seraphon are all alive and well, just feral bc....change lol
