AoS Second Edition

I agree but that is a sorta buff for us, bc we can cast through our skink heroes from afar and always unbind. Casting will be the bait game now too where you cast X hope they waste their unbind and get to cast Y uninterrupted.

ALL SCE are bad. If I were the emperor of the world I would have them all outlawed and melted down. Owning one would be a capital offence. :D
You know, in the transformers fandom we have a term for people like you:

And sometimes that "True Fan" is correct, case in point (from your example):

If you want to praise Warhammer's equivalent to Michael Bay's Transformers, you go right ahead. I've learned long ago that you can't teach someone good taste (but that doesn't mean that their poor taste can't be ridiculed).

Wow, that’s a burn if I ever saw one. ;) How does @NIGHTBRINGER respond to this challenge to his authority?

Throwing fuel on the fire are we? ;)

Nog really, as long as most heroes have 1 spell to cast and 1 to dispell..

Yes we have a buff with range but 30" is a long long way accross the table..

It does however make not casting as a Slann more viable.

Except that Michael Bay’s Transformers didn’t have anything as awesome as Kharadron Overlords:

They’re there to kick ass and swig beer, and they can’t swig beer while they have their diving suits on...

Throwing fuel on the fire are we? ;)

Nope, I’m staying out of this one, just sitting back and watching this battle unfold, and gathering my strength until the next one that even remotely involves me. :p

Except that post made by @ravagekitteh was in response of my ridicule of SCE... not AoS in general. As I've said before, AoS does have a few interesting factions (Kharadron Overlords, Daughters of Khaine, Deepkin, Fyreslayers), but I do not consider SCE to be among them. The point being, that I was likening SCE to Michael Bay's Transformers, and not AoS as a whole (at least in this instance, although now that you mention it.... :cyclops:)

Nope, I’m staying out of this one, just sitting back and relaxing while this battle unfolds, and gathering my strength until the next one. :p

By "throwing fuel on the fire", I wasn't implying that you were joining the battle, merely "encouraging" the battle between @ravagekitteh and myself. :D As evidenced by:

Finally.
I wonder how the Terradons' and Rippers' Warscrolls will be changed to reflect the rule change.

@Aginor that's a good point! I forgot about that for them.

Sorry, I thought you meant comparing AoS as a whole version of Warhammer to Michael Bay’s Transformers as a whole version of Transformers, not comparing SCE to the individual Transformers in Michael Bay’s films. I can imagine Bumblebee looking a lot like an SCE though with his golden colouration ;)

I wasn’t really “encouraging”, just “commentating” on the proceedings of the battle if you like. :p

It adds little in so far as what to expect from the GHB. It's merely an article going "you know these 328974 artifacts we promised, here's 1 of em". I'd prefer a "this is a new mechanic and it's going to work roughly like this" or a "this faction has this very important aspect of em focussed/changed". Hence little truly new "information". Just more of what we already (kinda) know/expect.

Also, isnt'the release-date soon?
Well these are Faction Focus, not GHB Focus. I don't expect them to tell me about how, for exemple, measuring is now base to base and piling in changed in a Beastclaw Raider focused article. Some factions won't be changed that much by the new edition, so these little tweaks like point costs and nerf/buffs are actually THE big information about them.

I don't mean to be rude or anything, I just don't understand your negativity towards these articles. Expecting more from these beginner friendly articles is just wishful thinking IMHO.

what are

those dragon creatures?

It’s a Xindi Aquatic from** Star Trek: Enterprise.

(I have no idea why or how it is flying astern of a Dwarf Airboat any more than I can figure out how or why the gargantuan Elf-ridden Sea Turtle can fly overland. :shifty: Warhammer Be gettin’ xtra wacky.)

**Paramount/CBS/Viacom should sue. Really, that would be so funny

it significantly nerfs our skink vassals as even with the added range from the skinks we're still liable to be in range of the dispell. And since our slann already could unbind from far away we don't benefit from it either.

Admittadly we still have it slightly easierthan others thanks to our skinks as we can at least attempt to outrange those 30" unbinds, but before we could basicly guarantee we'd be out of range with the skink vassals as our max range would be 36" vs 18 unbind. Now it's 36" vs 30" making it significantly easier to reach us.

It does however make not casting as a Slann more viable.
That's rather much of a consolation prize... unless summoning becomes impressivly effective we can't view that as a real boon.

Finally.
I wonder how the Terradons' and Rippers' Warscrolls will be changed to reflect the rule change.
I assume they just keep the re-rolls permanently. Not like anyone really used the ability for anything else..

I like the ones that give actual new info, like the current one with the base to base measuring. It actually has something "valuable" to add. Yes, point reductions are important as well. But I'd assume point changes with any new version of the GHB and 5 articles going "yup, we're changing some points here too" don't really add much. It's also not like they go massivly in depth with the point reductions and point out various new army compositions that can now viably be build as it's become cheap enough.

Mostly I'm just dissapointed cuz the first few articles started with a fairly decent amount of info, but it then rapidly devolved into articles that said little more than "yup, we're changing points for this faction, and this 1 new spell will probably benefit them a lot". It's just not what I expected going by the initial few articles.

Plus, I dislike page-length articles with 1 sentence of new information. If I want to read those I'd read my work email :p
