On the second picture you can see another side project... thought I'd turn my old metal saurus into a huge kind of skink... maybe some kind of tehenhauin? Let's see...

Interesting idea, curious to see how he turns out if that is what you are trying to pursue :watching:

Progress! Some work on the slann ... have him a cheek bubble (can you tell me how it's really called) and started with the arms...

Gonna finish the one side of his face first, before turning to the other side...
I also started improving the scales on my razordon...

Also had to redo the crest of my tall skink...

Critics and comments are as always very welcome! ;)

I think they are both actually.
IIRC behind them are the lungs so the frogs can blow them, which they do when 'singing', but they also use them as eardrums to pick up sounds.
I am no expert for amphibians though, it is just something I read years ago.

Spiders are cute. We get at least one brown recluse on our deck every year, and we name him Thor.

Cute?!?!

Brown Recluse?... you get such big spiders in Alberta? I would have thought that the mighty winter would have put a stop to them. I don't mind naming the guy Thor however, but only if I can smash him with a hammer afterwards! :punch:

Lizards eat spiders...
Some Amazonian and Thai people, too...
So much on that...;):p
Finished the main scales of my razordon... quite happy with the result...

And I continued to build up the slann's face and shoulder...
20170321_223240.jpg 20170321_223254.jpg will have to smooth out the neck area later on... was wondering if liquid green stuff could be of used to give him a nice slick skink... as a very last layer... anybody here with some experience in this section?

Edit: just recognized by the pictures, that the backside of his head looked really clumsy... used the opportunity of not yet cured game and corrected that...:hurting::nurse:;)

Liquid green stuff is a bit hard to use, if you have a mold you might be able to do it. Other than that,:it would be a lot of layers with a long curing time, liquid green stuff would be good for scales though.

Wow! Thanks! Glad you people like it!
I hope I can continue in this manner... speed and quality wise... ;)
But I fear it will come the day when I got to start working on his hands... on the other hand I also feared the day when I had to start working on his face...:meh:

Fantastic work buddy im.super jelly right now....on the spider front though i always get a few lizards and release them around my house a few times a year and i have yet to have a spider in my house ^_^ get a few lizzards but why hate them

Already looking so promising. Really curious how it will turned out painted. Btw...It's Schallblase, vocal sac

Long time...
Didn't do anything painting and modelingwise... just gotta get this thread away from page three;)
Also did a small sketch to see where I'm heading with the slann sculpting... what do you think about a wooden palanquin?
