Hi,

if you roll irresistible force while casting beam of chotec, does the solar engine crumble like any other object with bound spell?

Thx!

Eric

Nope. It is an innate bound spell, it gets cast irresistibly, and is ready to go again on the next turn.

I thought it couldnt be fired on the time it got the irresitble force but it could cast the next magic phase

Nope... it goes off and can't be dispelled. Best of all, like LawGnome pointed out, since it is an innate bound spell it doesn't crumble. You get all the benefits of irresistible force, without any penalties.

If it were a magical item, it would never be destroyed after the casting, but it's innate to the model so the bound spell can't be lost. Same with the Anvil of Doom and Empire Battle Priests and the Empire's magemobiles. Some army book bound spells do cause problems on a miscast like the Wood Elf Sisters of the Thorn, but we are in the clear with Solar Engine.

This causes confusion. Don't let your opponents try to say you can't use the Solar Engine again.

Or the casket of souls. Irrestible force just means they can't dispel it and it's ready to go again next turn. Whereas something like the ruby ring of ruin will crumble after getting an irrestible force.
