The looming excitement that might be TW warhammer II

Chiefs are pretty nasty if they get in and have a cohort with them. Sure they're not that tough, but they're still heros.
 
total war heroes are on their own though, they don't have a cohort. It's just the 1 chief. He might not be weak by any stretch, but I doubt any single skink is really going to do much against 80 guys in plate armor on his own unlike the other heroes. A skar-veteran Oldblood or sunblood is for that :p

Anyway, I'd imagine skinks prieststo be our wizard heroes, and chieftans be our assasiny/duellist-type hero, and I'd expect them to not have stegadons. It wouldn't fit with how the other heroes work in the total war game. I'd sooner expect us to have slann and oldbloods as general options, and then as a mount the oldblood can get a carnosaur, hile the slanns get a stegadon. Mazdamundi just gets a named stegadon. Much like how karl franz's rides deathclaw while a normal general just rides a random griffon.

This seems to be in line with the logic of the game so far, faction having a handful of different characters, two lords and three heroes, sometimes a bit more than this sometimes a bit less.
While we might thus not see skinks on stegadons, since that would simply be too powerful for a Hero choice. The lizards could perhaps get the alter, if we're lucky :) perhaps the Troglodon would be considered low tier enough for a Hero choice :p would be kind if fun
 
Well I'd expect us to also get a stegadon in its capacity as either a supporting unit in the form of a engine of the gods, much like the two chariots the undead have, or as a mobile siege platform monster kind of like the arachnid for the greenskins.

But yea, I don't expect our skink heroes to be mounted, there's just not much of a logical progression.

Either you get a caster with weak melee capabilities that suddenly ravages entire armies, or you got a assasin/duelist that becomes a behemoth late game. Neither of which make much sense. But leaving out the stegadon and troglodon would be rather lame. Especially the stegadon is unlikely to be left out as the howdah on its back makes for a nice look & change of pace compared to the rest of the army.

Tombs Would most likely be a DLC later, after the game release. Meaning that we wont see them until after the announcement of such DLC ;) But yeah, let's see some more lizzies, Krox, Chameleons, Salamanders please! :D

That's true... but one can still hope!

Do you think we'll get a good cinematic Tomb King trailer when they are ready to arrive on the scene?

Both Beastmen and woodelves got one, so that is probably going to happen. First they'll give us some concept art for them, after a while they'll follow the hype up with a cinematic trailer of the Tomb Kings. That's at least how the other DLC worked :D
 
It's so weird seeing a Slann stand. Feels unnatural. :wtf:
