This is a thread in which I'll post some random ideas about modelling, and I encourage everyone to post their own and discuss. Just some brainstorming.

My idea today: Converting a Slann into Sy Snootles (singer from Star Wars). Wouldn't that be awesome?

Cool idea, atm I'm working on a custom skink chief that will hopefully tie my Aelf and Skinks into a colour scheme, I'm hoping to paint all the skink shields as tiger skins with the chief having a tiger skin cloak.
 
Originally I wanted to give my Carnosaur a tiger-like paint scheme. But it turned out I am not very good at painting yet so I didn't do it.
I need more practice.

Your in the right place then, some fantastic painters on this forum and you will learn alot.

I've just started airbrushing and that is a scary process but fast results.
 
Currently working on my hurricanum, will change the horses for cold ones, use the goggles head to make Waluigi, and a dwarf to make a Wario, (can't have too many battlemages) but will probably put a Mario on the hurricanum, unless I can find a suitable model to convert to Rosalina or something. Trying to come up with a charging chuck for a bloodbowl model.
Gotta keep the theme!

That's .... uhh... wow. I don't even know what to call it, but it sounds like fun! :D
 
Don't worry, the horses will be put to good use on my Bugman's mobile Brewery, a steamtank conversion for a friend.
 
...hmm lets see I got my stone thunder tusk EOG, Maw crusher into solar beam, lots of primal temple guards to work on, a primal Eternity warden, Skink chief or priest with a bow conversion of some sort and kicking around some ideas for AOS28
 
I have my skunks heroes I'm going to make and redo some. Converting some plastic dinosaurs/lizards into razordons and a salamander... there still is my raptor I'm trying to make into a carnosaur... and I need to get another star priest to convert... Will try to give him a rastaman look... fitting Lord Boab's style... not sure if I'll make dreadlocks... I heard about frogs with curly hair but not of other lizards...;)
 
Random modelling thought of the day:

In my upcoming Death army (will start in one or two months together with a friend who builds the other part) I want to go Deathrattle. But I noticed there are not many ranged units. I like archers though so I wondered: Could I build Skeleton Archers from just regular Skeletons with DIY bows? Which materials could I use? Any ideas? Or are they really not worth it?
 
Hmmmm I don't know.
Are those plastic? I kinda dislike resin.
Also I am a bit worried whether they will be mixable with GW ones without looking weird.

Deathrattle don't need ranged, they just consume you with hordes of skellys that hit hard when buffed!

Slightly smaller than GW but easily playable especially if your playing with friends.

It's a resin/plastic hybrid. I haven't had a chance to mess with it my self,
but seeing as they successfully kick stared three times with hundreds of models, I suspect it's good. ;)
 
Finding old skinks, or elf/wood wlf should give you the parts you need for conversion. Just paint the hand to look like a leather glove. Even Dwarves have crossbows that could easily be converted. Just need to find the bits. But would be dead simple.
 
Charlie will be coming back in stock, she is just working on getting some kickstarter stuff cast and then Charlie will be back!

Edit: Couple of weeks she has said.
