Well, I know you must move toward the closest enemy model... but yeah, you could argument that, once you're in range with you weapon, you can stop your pile in move.
But that's moot: round bases for big monsters are much larger than their square counterparts

Yeah I don't think it really is a problem though. I would play people using square bases anytime. I think everyone should, because that will maybe pursuade a few more of the old 8th Ed players to at least try AoS once, and then they will notice it is more fun than they thought and they won't have to rebase their whole armies.

Pretty much.
Plus, I have already too much time issues with new paintings, i don't even consider the rebasing as a thing.

What the heck is going on here?!? My own beloved thread has been derailed with.... with... with.... AoS discussion?!!? :vomit:

So this is what feels like to be on the other side of thread derailment.

I was going to say - why on Earth is a Tomb Kings thread being used to discuss bases? Settra would not be pleased...

I was just thinking that with the acquisition of my new Tomb Kings army, I have achieved quite the balance in terms of forces in 8th Edition.

In terms of allegiances, I have:
  • 1 "evil" army (Warriors of Chaos)
  • 1 "neutral" army (Tomb Kings)
  • 1 "good" army (Lizardmen)
In terms of power level, I have:
  • 1 top tier army (Warriors of Chaos)
  • 1 mid tier army (Lizardmen)
  • 1 bottom tier army (Tomb Kings)

Not to derail the thread even further, but the AoS fan supplement for Tomb Kings was just amazing. :)

An AoS derailment... in my kingdom... what am I to do?
;)
Preach the tactical advantages of square-corned bases in AoS threads, obviously. Extol the virtues of the 90° corner to those curve-ridden heathens. It's only right.

...angled that is.

That seems to upset people, especially when done in excess... and excess is what I am known for. :)
