Blog Beastie's Lizardmen

After almost half a year since my last post, I'm proud to present finished Scar-Veteran on Cold One. I'm going to put gloss varnish on gems and maybe dirt to make it look wet. Base is very simple, I may add some bits or water effect in future (but i'm not certain yet).
I finished it last week. Enjoy ;)

That is some mighty fine painting. It turned out amazing. How did you get the scales on the cold one to turn out so well?
If you take a closer look, you can see that every scale was lined using grey and white, sometimes i just glazed the highlight. White as a ending color is great when opposed by black as maincolor. You get the high-contrast look. And it's not that hard, just daunting ;) Also, blueish scales make the scheme more interesting. It's actually a Venomhide Ravasaur scheme from WoW, which i used to play a lot back in the old days when i got the time.

I'm amazed how much you guys love it, i just wish i had more time to finish some other Lizardmen from my force to share. But I'll continue to share some pictures as soon as i get something wip/done.

As for the photos, i'm doing them at home, previous skins where photographed at my workplace, which should explain the quality difference ;)

Wow that is amazing! What is that greenish-head trophy on the side, it looks like the saurus hacked off the head of a cave troll!

It's a head of a Crypt Horror from Vargheist/ Crypt Flayers set.

Does the white go all the way around the scale, or just at specific sections (top, bottom, etc.)?

Just the specific section, in this example i tried to stick to the bottom.

Very nice indeed, I love the gems looks like you started with a black base coat which is they way I do them and find it gives good results, the scales are excellent and really do bring the model to life, the crypt horror head is a great touch.

Love it ;)

Small update: I'm alive and found some time to fix my old Oxyotl. Also, saurus alpha happened.

And nice blow pipe... quite close to the original ... what did you use for the middle part?

It's the middle section from giant blowpipe from stegadon kit.

Anyway, I even got the time for some other heroes: 5th Ed. Tehenhauin I'm going to use as a Starpriest, and Skink Chief. Hope you like the Chief as much as I do ;)
