Hi, I'm new around here, but am a regular contributor to Yaktribe and Terragenesis - I recognize a few user names here.

So, I completed a Commission build - and although I don't charge for them, I ask for something hobby related and I got a Start Collecting Seraphon Box! (I let the guy choose either Seraphon, Nurgle or Ad Mech) My son thinks its for him though because Dinosaurs (Dine-Saur Rawrrr)

I have a few questions about the SC box - Yes, I have read the other threads about getting the most out of the box...but am I missing something? On the knight sprues there are some extra snakes that could easily be made into a unit of Jungle Swarms (2 bases, with 2 snakes on each base) Also, what size base do Swarms usually go onto?
Also, If I make the Troglodon so It looks like it is coming out of the water - wouldn't I have to add the Skink priest onto the back anyway instead of separate?

Whilst getting excited about the Seraphon box I found 14 Skinks still on the sprues - no idea where other 10 are... So, was thinking about a normal 10 skink squad with blowpipes and shields. with 4 left, make 3 handlers then raid my sons dinosaurs to make a salamander (what size base here? I think I have read the same as a Knight) This will leave 1 left over. My next purchase will be a Skink Box which is 24. So another 20 Skinks with 1+4 left over to convert into 5 Chameleons using the ideas and tips here.

Anyway, I'll leave you with some Jungle scenery that I have been putting together for my FLGS and my own tables.

Some easy Corrugated card Ruins.

C&Cs welcome and appreciated.

Welcome aboard, to answer the questions about the SC box.

Jungle swarms are no longer a thing in Age of Sigmar

The Skink priest can be magnitized to fit on the troglodon or a base that way you have a skink priest on foot or a Oracle for the Trog.

Salamander same size base as a knight for AOS

Nice scenery ;)

Good to know, welcome aboard! Your terrain work is stunning, looking forward to your Lizardmen project.

So sad about the jungle swarms :argh: but that is exactly what I used the extra snakes for when I made mine.

I agree, magnetizing the skink onto the troglodon is the way to go so that you can use it for both.

Shame about Jungle Swarms no longer being in the book (I don't have my book yet) - but they are still included in the Seraphon list on Battlescribe...and seeing as I don't play in competitions I'll make them anyway for friendly and narrative games :) I was thinking either a Knight Oval base or a 40mm Round base for them - any other ideas or suggestions?

Here is a quick 40kish building that I knocked up one morning whilst my students were doing something else :)

I had also been working on some Desert Islands for use with Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago - they are nearly done here.

@Crowsfoot I have no link sadly, I buy these plants from a Stationary Shop near to my Work (A High School) they look like this when bought though.

Update time - Found a lot of Insulation Foam by the side of the road - which is rare to find here in Vietnam...most was broken, but I asked the builders If I could have it. Most is being saved for a future project, but with some smaller offcuts I decided to make a Pyramid.

It's 8" along each side at the bottom.

Added a few steps.

Quick and easy paint job along with some random bit of scatter that I had floating around and a bit of repurposed Frostgrave scenery - was a Fountain.

Close up of the Pool - made with Silicon sealer - I agitated it to make it look like it is bubbling or boiling - looks pretty good.

Nice!

The pyramid and the bubbling water looks great, as do the archipelago pieces!

Dang!!!!!!

Provide us a link to the plants used I'm going to make some of this terrain.

Did you get the leaves for the trees from there too or were those custom made?

@Warden the leaves of the Palm trees were just cut from paper.

Ok...some actual Minis!!! There is a competition on another forum to make a pet for your gang or warband (or army ;) ) so I decided to make a Salamander with 3 handlers.

This is a Toy Dinosaur that I "borrowed" from my son (I bought him a bigger one to replace it!) which will become my Salamander - I know it doesn't look exactly the same, but it is the right size for the Oval base (that is cut from EPVC)

The bases painted up along with plants and some real roots (I sealed them first) to give them a swampy feel. 3 of the bases are the Handlers and 1 is for a Chameleon conversion test.

3 handler Conversions - the javelins shafts have been replaced with slightly thicker and longer bits of Styrene rod. The Chameleon has had the fin and tail removed and Eyes and tail added.

Paint was simple - White prime. Temple Guard Blue scales. Yellow Eyes. Green and black weapons. All over Coelia shade wash and a white drybrush to finish. Easy for the rank and file.

Technically you could use the jungle swarms in kings of war

Your work is amazing. So much inspiration in here, please continue to post more pictures!

I love how it all works so well together, from the waterfall to the purple jungle plants to accent the bases! Amazing work! :vulcan:
