Blog Chicken Lips Warhammer Armies

Thanks! He needs to stand out a bit as General. Kinda difficult to do when your main army colors are Brown, Grey and Black.

These mats are great. They are basically giant mousepads. Movement trays, models, etc. just glide over them and the mat doesn't buckle or ripple under their weight (something that has bitten me before-). They are also really nice to roll dice on. It dilutes the noise of dice bouncing.
I can attest to that. I have one and I love it!

Nice work on the Skaven!

Thanks! Honestly, she was a trial run. I have two of those models, and I painted this one up for a friend. I wanted to see if I liked it. I'm still thinking that I'll go with more of a teal green - blue color with mine.

Amazing work The wooden parts of the weapons and the snow on the base are my favorite bits.

That blue skin is so effective and I bet it's really fast to paint. ;)

Thanks, guys!

The snow is really easy as is the blue skin tone.

The snow is just the snow basing material from Gale Force 9 with a little Elmer's Glue mixed in with it. Mix it to a rough grit texture and then apply to the base, keeping in mind how it would fall on the surface. (Don't get it too fluid by applying too much glue because it will flow into the cracks and crevices, at which point, you might as well have just painted it white.)

The Blue skin is simply a base coat of "The Fang" (all GW paints), a thin wash of "Drakenhof Nightshade", and then a drybrush of "Fenrisian Grey". Done. Not really much different from a normal flesh tone. :)
