Imagine playing against Legions of Nagash where you can't target the Heroes as long as there are models around it, they get multiple CP back each turn AND can still bring back summonable units...

Rumors abound have basically said it is, and even if it was too early, it could be a product of inter-studio competition.

I think the problem is that GW tried to solve single problem multiple ways. The both games tend to suffer from it in multiple ways (e.g. old kroak multinerfed to oblivion). They applied both mortal wounds and improved AP and multidamage. And now they are moving to capping invuln at 4++ except special occasions too. Now from invincible deathstars the game moved into everything dying the moment they are in line of sight. There are certain exceptions, but even my paladins with transhuman and -1 damage tend to crumble in 1-2 turns.

And this would mage LoN not suck, which is how it should be. The last game I managed to kill 24 spirit hosts and 120 chainrasps and still LoN player barely won thanks to good rolling.

Yes, currently AoS desinged for characters being targetable and some armies will benifit from 40k-style lookout too much, like fyreslayers. But, I think, it will be an improvement in general.

It will be three years, and this is a current lifecycle of an edition.

Hopefully we see their full range, not just the (admittedly beautiful) troops, bats and Blood Knights. So much of that range needed/needs updating.

i don't dislike those changes, however i fear that Stand and Shoot with "only" a -1 malus.
I would like to see it limited within a certain range, as the Fall back (only that in this case, you cannot shoot if the charge happens within 6" from the defending unit, as the enemy is too close and you don't have the time to react).

it's interesting, however, to see that GW is slowly reintroducing in AoS some mechanics that were typical of WHFB.

By the Gods, I thought we saw all the crap GW were going to give them already? :argh:

When will this torture end? They've already dedicated at least one preview to them, surely couldn't they move on to something more interesting?

Vamps were a very popular army back in the WhFB days, so im not surprised they are milking this like they did the "return" of real elves. Flesh eaters were more cursed britonians than vampire counts, so this is their first true release since they killed fantasy.

I really want to get into vamps, played them in fantasy, but I fear they aren't going to play the way I want, I feel like they are going to be LoN 2.0 and won't do the vampires themselves justice.

I agree, if they aren't a bunch of fast hard hitting melee monsters that heal after doing wounds ill be very upset.

That's what I'm assuming they're going to be, especially as the original Legions of Nagash tome was released before 2nd Edition arrived.

We'll have to see. I wonder if their Underworlds warband is any indication of how they'll play. They have a "hunger" mechanic where they become more feral and deal more melee damage if they don't feed, but are better at defense when they're full and more focused.

I have a feeling you'll be able to capture both the LoN and a more feral vampiric playstyle. I know a lot of people are hoping for both styles.

Right? I want that Dracula untold style. Make vampires 500 points each that come with a unit of skeletons that must remain wholly within 6 inches of else the crumble. 1 per turn if a unit of 10, d3 in a unit of 20, d6 in a unit of 30 and flat 6 in a unit of 40, but heal that much of the entire unit is within.

They only have like 8 wounds, but for every point of damage they do in combat, on a 4+, they heal 1 point of damage, meaning of they do enough, they can fully heal in 1 turn, but susceptible to being nuked.

Moves 10 (skeletons still move 4, so can limit the movement of you want to keep the units from crumbling) , but can turn into a swarm of bats, can move 20 with fly

I have more ideas, but just making myself sad lol

Well, AoS Warhammer Fest was disappointing, Vampires get more unnecessary crap (the previous Dire Wolf sculpts were perfectly fine) and Kragnos is appearing on his own without a Centaur faction being led by him, meaning GW have yet again wasted the potential of a great idea.
