The GREAT 40k thread

I'm planning a Necron list, mostly for fun and highly thematic: "The Arthropods army".

as you can see, it will be a list built mostly around the visual aspect: spiders, insects and similar.
more or less:

Skorpekh Lord
3 crypteks
27 canoptek scarab swarms
3 canoptek spiders
3 canoptek wraiths
1 canoptek Tombstalker
1 triarch stalker
1 Seraptek heavy construct


my doubt (just to improve a little its efficiency)

should i go Novokh? (-1 VP is vital for all those swarms to damage something)
or should i go with a generic ancient dynasty, to give obj secured to all of my army, given the lack of troops? i'm inclined toward this, but i would like to hear your opinions.

Canoptek spiders heal them (basically they bring back 1 destroyed base from each nearby scarab unit).

annnd... i have another 9 unpainted swarms :p.
I've never searched for them... but when you buy 2 blocks of 2nd hand armies and the box of indomitus, they kinda tend to be in numbers.

Very nice paint scheme, not that different from my own army. Great miniature, but horribly expensive for something of its size. I trust your wallet is recovering in a darkened room after buying it? :p

Also you're missing some Skorpekh Destroyers from your list! Surely you could sub out some Scarab Swarms (and spawn them during the battle with your Spyders) for them?

My wallet isn't crying that much. This round i went against my usual attitude and i've opted for 3d print and not an original FW :p.

Skorpek destroyers are surely a thing that would fit the theme.
Yes, i could make room by sacrificing one block of scarabs and one spyder.

We'll see...

That's a great-looking 3D-Printed model, it certainly fooled me into thinking it was the real thing!

Which company did you get it from?

Finally Xenos have something to combat Imperial/Chaos Knight spam (still not the best approach as it just increases the arms race rather than terminating it altogether but at least it would make it more balanced for Xenos armies against those threats).

nice pic of that necron, you took the moment! Just some few seconds again and all those scraps will be teleported in a tomb to be rebuilt again. :D
